Being home for the summer is fun, but if you're anything like me, it can sometimes feel like there is absolutely nothing to do in your hometown. Whether it's a rainy day or a night out with your friends, the movies are always a good option, especially with all the new movies hitting the theater this summer. Here are just a few you definitely should not miss:
1. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising
The sequel to the 2014 film "Neighbors" is one you should definitely see because -let's be real - Zac Efron is back and hotter than ever. "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" follows the same plot line as the original movie, except this time Mac (Seth Rogan) and his wife Kelly (Rose Byrne) have to deal with a whole new level of a neighbor nightmare when the sorority Kappa Nu moves into the house next door. The cast is amazing, and Zac Efron's abs are reason enough to see the movie this summer. You can check out the trailer here!
2. X Men: Apocalypse
Okay, so I'm the first to admit, I'm not the biggest comic book/action movie fan, but the trailers for this movie look amazing. The core cast members from "X-Men: Days of Future Past" are back, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, James McAvoy and Nicolas Hoult. As well as some new cast members, including "Game of Thrones'" Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and "EastEnders'" Ben Hardy. This action filled movie is one you definitely won't want to miss! You can check out the trailer here!
3. Popstar: Never Stop Never
Written, produced by, and starring Andy Samberg, "Popstar: Never Stop Never" is a mockumentary comedy that is a parody music documentaries like Justin Bieber: Never Say Never which was released in 2011. Samberg plays Conner4Real, a famous recording artist that is dealing with the good and bad that comes along with being a world-famous popstar. This movie looks hysterical, so if you're looking for a good laugh, definitely check it out. You can check out the trailer here!
4. Me Before You
Based on the 2012 romantic novel written by Jojo Moyes, "Me Before You" follows the story of a successful and happy man, Will Traynor, who suddenly becomes paralyzed in an accident. Two years later, Louisa Clark is hired as Will's caretaker, helping Will loosen up and become more open-minded. If the movie is anything like the book (an emotional rollercoaster), I highly recommend bringing plenty of tissues because you are bound to cry! You can check out the trailer here!
5. Finding Dory
In the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 classic Disney film, "Finding Nemo," "Finding Dory" focuses on the amnesic character, Dory (voiced by Ellen Degeneres) as she is trying to find her family. The movie is in 3D, and is well worth the watch no matter what age you are! You can check out the trailer here!
