We've officially hit the halfway mark for 2016. It's crazy how quickly this year is flying by. In the last six months, we've seen some pretty good movies come out in local theaters. Between "Deadpool," "The Revenant," "Captain America: Civil War," and "Me Before You," the bar has been set pretty high. After watching numerous trailers and reading multiple Wiki pages, these are the five upcoming movies that I believe have the potential to be fantastic. And you can believe I'll be seeing each one of them!
1. "Suicide Squad"
There's been a lot of hype surrounding this movie, and based on the trailer is seems well deserved. A mix between gritty humor and dark overtones, you can't help but be intrigued after watching the trailer once. And to seal the deal, Warner Brothers was able to clinch a star-studded cast. Will Smith, Jared Leto and Cara Delevingne are just a few of the stars to be included in this amazing cast. Jared Leto is one of my favorite actors, and there have been nothing but rave reviews of his portrayal of the Joker. Personally, I thought Margot Robbie's depiction of Harley Quinn also stood out in making the movie a must-see.

2. "Finding Dory"
After thirteen long years, the wait is finally over. We all remember "Finding Nemo" from childhood and ever since 2003 we've been asking for the sequel. In this version, though, we follow Dory on her journey to regain her memory and find her family. Besides the fact that Ellen Degeneres is a comedic genius, there are a slew of new characters and each trailer has been nothing short of cute. I may be 18, but nothing is going to stop me from seeing this.

3. "Lights Out"
I don't know about you, but I am a huge horror movie buff. "Lights Out" is a film about a malignant entity that lurks when the lights go out. What could be one of the most exciting components of this movie is how it plays off of one of humanity's most common fears, darkness. It seems like an obvious trick, but it's one that I've seen an entire movie dedicated to. It's a fresh idea that that I'm excited to see play out.

4. "The Woods"
Another horror movie, this one follows a group of hikers as they trek through the woods. Simple enough. "The Woods" is a found footage film, which ultimately means it can either join the found footage cliche or take this moment to rise above all of its predecessors. I'm curious to see which path it takes.
Release date: September 16th, 2016
5. "Doctor Strange"
"Doctor Strange" is easily one of my favorite superheroes, so when I heard it was being made into a movie, I couldn't help but be excited. Then I heard Benedict Cumberbatch was playing Doctor Strange himself, and I almost lost it. I'm hoping that the movie lives up to my expectations instead of falling short like recent superhero movies. This is by far a must-see for superhero movie buffs.
