Whether you have a new beau or have been with your significant other for years on end, you constantly find yourself wanting to explore the city of champs with your man. Sometimes, it may seem like you're having the same date night over and over again and you're looking for something new and exciting. Date nights are customary, but Pittsburgh has some iconic hot spots for dates.

Here are five iconic Pittsburgh date ideas:

1. Ice skating at PPG

There is nothing better than showing off your skating skills with your guy. He'll pretend he can't skate well and will need to hold your hand the whole time for safety precautions. When in reality, he played hockey all his life and you know very well that he can skate circles around you. Either way, this date will be filled with lots of laughter, snuggles, and one Instagram-worthy picture to capture your fun-filled night.

2. Drive-in

Talk about a classic. Whether you're seeing a romcom, psychological thriller, or scary movie, you're happy to be parked in a car cuddling with your guy. Fair warning, your guy may even be tempted to buy a new car with surround sound and a panoramic roof so you can stargaze while watching the movie. Nope? Guess that's just my man. Either way, it will be a night full of junk food and happiness.

3. Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium

Lions, tigers, and bae, oh my! Going on a jungle safari to see all the exotic animals is a must. Prepare yourself though, one of you may start jumping up and down when they see their favorite animal. What can I say, I have a weakness for giraffes and immediately want to pet them when I see them. Chances are, your girl or guy will have that same feeling with their favorite animal.

4. Painting With A Twist

This is probably the least-manly thing you can get your guy to do. Having him drink wine with you while you two are taking a painting class. What he doesn't know is that he'll actually have a blast. His painting may even turn out better than yours. Brace yourself for that heartache...I know I was in denial for quite some time.

5. Mount Washington overlook

If you've never gone to the Mount Washington overlook with your person, are you two really dating? Going to Station Square to grab a bite at the Hard Rock Cafe or the Melting Pot is a great to start the night. Then you two will mosey on up to the overlook of Mount Washington by taking the Duquesne Incline. You have to take in the beauty of the city from all levels. This is the ultimate Pittsburgh date to showcase to everyone that you're a Pittsburgh couple. I wouldn't want to overlook my city with anyone else.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
