Every college student struggles with eating the same meals every week. Taco Bell and McDonald's can get really old really fast. The quality isn’t that great so it is pretty easy to get bored eating there. We rarely go anywhere else because we don’t want to spend more than we can afford on food. Luckily, there are a few deals in the Boro that can help you stay on budget but still have a delicious meal.
1. Cathay Asian Bistro: All-You-Can-Eat-Sushi
Cathay has good Asian food for a good price. One of their best deals is all-you-can-eat sushi at lunchtime. You can eat as much sushi you want for around $12. What a deal! You can get a full roll of sushi or try out different types of nigiri. Make sure you get there in time to eat before 2 p.m. so you still qualify for the lunch special!
2. Bar Louie: $1 Burgers
On Tuesdays after 5 o’clock, you can get a delicious burger for $1. If you are 21 or older you can also participate in happy hour between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. This means if you get there right at 5 p.m., you get a deal on your meal and your drinks. One of their amazing treats from happy hour is half-priced wine in a glass or bottle!
3. Dairy Queen: $5 Lunch
This deal comes with a drink, fries, a sundae and your choice of a chili cheese dog, chicken tenders or a burger. Just recently they have added the BBQ bacon cheeseburger to this $5 lunch deal. You also get to customize your sundae by choosing chocolate, strawberry or caramel syrup to go on top. Also, if you stop by Dairy Queen in January, you can get the salted caramel truffle blizzard, which is their blizzard of the month.
4. City Café: Student's Breakfast
Two eggs, your choice of bacon or sausage and either biscuits or toast in this steal of a meal. They serve you all this for only $4.19! The prices are generally very affordable for the average college student. If you are feeling a little extra hungry, you can get the "Lawyer’s Breakfast," which comes with an extra egg and home fries for only $1.20 more. This place is great for college students, especially since we love eating breakfast at all times of the day and they serve it from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
5. Nacho's: Taco Tuesday
This deal runs for only a single dollar. You get to choose between chicken and beef as your meat. They are loaded with meat and cheese and are of the best quality. You also aren’t limited to a certain number of tacos. You can order 12 tacos and only pay $12 and tax. I would like to also brag about their cheese dip. It is a much larger portion than you get from similar restaurants, but for about the same price. Their everyday lunch specials run from $5 to $10, and with the consistently good quality they put out, this is a great deal.
