Fashion week is one of my favorite weeks of the year. I love to sit back and watch models stomp down the runway wearing wild couture creations from top designers or struggle to understand what Kanye West was thinking when he designed a whole line of body stockings in different shades of nude. Typically, the trends on the runway don’t really translate to what normal people wear. However, this year there were some great trends that are perfect for fall and are actually wearable at the same time. Here are some necessities you need in your closet this fall, straight from the runways.
Flare Denim
This year, skinny jeans aren’t the must-have of the season. Flares are making a comeback as the go-to denim option. Not only do they give your wardrobe a fun '70s vibe, but they also can be worn casually with a flannel or dressed up for a night out.
'70s Vibe
Speaking of flare denim, the '70s are back. Designers are bringing the disco era back with knits, flares, and boho silhouettes. Funky prints and florals are making a comeback, bringing the fun, funky vibe of the decade back.
Statement Earrings
On runways all over fashion week, designers were topping off their creations with huge statement earrings. You may not have a pair that are as large as the ones on the runway, but the minimalist designs will have a huge impact on your outfit!
Chunky Knits
Chunky knits are back for fall and I could not be more excited. There’s nothing better then beating the chill wrapped up in the biggest sweater in your closet. You can balance out the bulk by pairing them with a slimmer silhouette on the bottom.
Turtlenecks
My childhood staple is back. You can rock a turtleneck under a cute dress or pair it with flare jeans. This trick can help you transition warm-weather dresses to fall in a snap!
There you have it! Five fashion week trends that can easily be incorporated into your closet and make you like you just stepped off the runway.
