OK... I admit that after Hershel died and Judith went missing, I had given up on "The Walking Dead." I was so distraught that Hershel's head had literally been chopped off I no longer wanted to invest my life into the zombie filled post-apocalyptic TV show. But something about it reeled me back in and I decided to catch up from the end of season four to the end of season six in three days. So with all that said, let's all relive the most stressful hour and 45 minutes of our lives together with the 5 emotions you felt while watching "The Walking Dead's" season six finale.
1. Rick and Michonne: Pure Happiness
As the episode starts, it seems as though everything is fine and wonderful, because Rick and Michonne's completely out of the blue love is enough to make the devil himself crack a smile. So we're about five minutes in and I believe that the season finale is going to be all rainbows and butterflies for my new OTP (one true pairing, if you aren't hip to fandom lingo).
2. Carol Leaving Alexandria: Annoyance
So of course Carol couldn't handle the killing of not-so-innocent people and decided that she wanted to basically go out and try and survive on her own or maybe intentionally get killed... who knows. All I know is that watching Carol leave Alexandria was annoying. She had a good life and a cute boy that wanted to cuddle with her at night. Now she's just sad and annoyed that people love and care about her and bothered to leave their safe haven to go searching for her... sounds like such a hard time, Carol.
3. Maggie's Pregnancy Troubles: Sorrow
Knowing that Judith would have another friend close to her age is so exciting. I have placed my heart and soul into Maggie's unborn child. When she fell to the ground in agony, I not only screamed over Maggie, I also just felt so bad knowing that it was the end of the world, she's having a baby, her husband has been unknowingly captured and now something is wrong with her baby. Pure sorrow is what I felt in that moment.
4. The Line Up: Anxiety
Watching our heroes and even poor Maggie be disarmed and forced to their knees by the Saviors was probably the worst thing to have to watch. But as time went on and hearing Glenn cry out to Maggie so Negan wouldn't kill her was heart-wrenching. But watching Negan pace back and fourth between our favorite characters and when he started to sing the dreaded eenie meenie minee mo that still haunts my memories from childhood today... filled me up with some unreal anxiety.
5. Negan's Decision: Horrified
Finally when Negan chose who the victim was and having the camera do the POV shift the first thing I thought was damn this is some great directing and then hearing the screams and seeing the blood seep down the screen left me horrified and screaming as if I was there in the open field like our favorite characters were.
So now all we have to do is wait to see who the writers of our favorite zombie infused TV show have chosen as their victim. Will it be Glenn, like it is in the comic books? Or will it be one of the more recent main add-ons we met at the prison, or will it be someone who's been there since the beginning? I guess we'll find out in October when "The Walking Dead" season seven airs. Trust me, I'll be there sitting in front of my TV, tissues in hand, and a cared-for voice box ready to scream.
