Okay so, It's that time of year again! I know, I know.... 40 WHOLE days without something that you love? It's crazy right? I know giving up something for Lent can be literally tiring, but at least you weren't persecuted and died on a cross. Am I right? So, with that being said, here are 9 things you can give up for Lent.
1.) Alcohol . (Applies to those 21 and older)
Alright, so I know what you're thinking. "How in the heck can I possibly give up the one thing that keeps me sane?" Well, you can give up specific kinds of alcohol (like your favorite, just wine, or even just liquor.)
2.) Sex.
So on the other hand, sex is a really enjoyable thing. I mean, think about how great it'll be after you finished waiting. Right? I know. But aside from that, it's a great way to focus on yourself and find other things that make you happy.
3.) Using the elevator.
Of course, not everyone uses the elevator on a daily basis, but for some, they literally use it several times a day. Not only is this a good sacrifice but giving up the elevator can be beneficial to your health.
4.) Your favorite takeout place.
Not only will this save you money, but it gives you the opportunity to cook more and discover new recipes that you might add to your list of favorites! Have friends come over and taste test new dishes and make something fun out of it.
5.) Listening to your favorite band/ artist.
I know this one is really really hefty, but this gives you the chance to discover new artists and try out different genres that you otherwise might have ignored.
Remember, Lent isn't about making yourself miserable. It's about making a sacrifice. If you don't feel comfortable giving something out or don't practice, don't feel as though you have to give something up. Happy Lent and enjoy the Easter Season!
