Thanksgiving was last Thursday and we all know what that means...
It is now the socially acceptable time to start celebrating Christmas! But if we are honest, or at least if I'm honest, I've been celebrating since November 1st.
Christmas can be an exciting time. The whole family gets together (again, for the second time in 30 days), you get to watch Christmas movies, and my favorite part; PRESENTS!! Personally, I like to give presents over receiving presents because it is so fun to see how people react to the time and effort you put into their gift. As we all know, Christmas can also be a stressful time. So, here are my top five holiday tips!
1. Don't stress the gifts.
Sometimes, we get a little caught up in the shopping of Christmas. Naturally, as humans, we stress the small things like what to get the person who has everything. I am totally guilty of this, my dad is an impossible person to shop for. I have come to the realization that I shouldn't be stressing over what to get people and that they will be grateful for whatever they receive. So, don't stress the gifts.
2. Cute wrapping paper!
Cute stuff makes everything better! Make sure to pick up cute wrapping paper. I like to wrap everyone's gifts in one wrapping paper (usually from the dollar store) that way everyone knows what gifts are from me. The dollar store has a ton of cute wrapping paper all for one dollar! It is affordable and makes the presents so much prettier.
3. Don't put a damper on your wallet.
A lot of times we want to give everyone everything no matter the cost because we want to make them happy. The truth is, if the person is truly grateful they will appreciate anything you get them! So don't go spending hundreds of dollars on someone when you could go pick up some similar items for much cheaper! Also, hit up sales especially Black Friday and big sales that are similar.
4. Be grateful for what you get (and don't expect anything!)
Many people ask for gifts for Christmas, myself included. Christmas morning make sure to thank everyone for the gifts that you receive. Don't get upset if it isn't something you asked for. After all, that isn't the reason for the season anyway!5. Remember the reason for the season!
Christmas is not about the presents. The reason we celebrate Christmas is because of Jesus' birth. Don't forget that this holiday season!
Keep these tips in mind this Christmas season. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
