Having a hard time coming up with present ideas this holiday season? Fear not—these gifts are sure to make your loved one smile.

1. A camera

The perfect gift for the photographer, videographer or proud parent of your crow—they will surely appreciate this one. With cameras ranging from pocket sized to full-on professional DSLRs, this gift will give your loved one the perfect tool to document their special moments in life.

2. A new pet

There’s nothing like bringing a new family member into the household during the most joyful time of year. Plus, people will forget a set of Legos ten years down the line, but nobody forgets when they get a puppy for Christmas.

3. A really good framed picture

This one is perfect for significant others, parents or grandparents. School pictures sometimes come out awkward, so setting up your own photoshoot gives you the chance to have a fun day at a choice location and take full control over your photos. Parents and grandparents tend to especially like quality family pictures. If you have siblings, this would be a good way to come up with a collaborative gift.

4. An abundance of Christmas cookies

Christmas Cookies are some of the best things to associate the holidays with! Put together a plate of your loved one’s favorite cookie (assorted if you’re feeling adventurous), and have fun decorating them! There’s nothing better than a homemade gift that comes from the heart, and better yet, the kitchen.

5. Money

Everyone has a use for this, so if you can’t think of anything else, this a great go-to. This gift is especially good for struggling college students, or children/siblings who are saving up for that “special something."

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
