Most people think of "The Notebook" when they hear chick flicks so I have decided this week to share a few movies that will help you branch out in your selection of chick flicks! Even to the guys out there, these movies are still worth the watch. I personally enjoy to sit back and watch a sappy movie every now and then and occasionally I like to watch a funny chick flick! I hope you enjoy this list and if you haven’t seen some of these movies I highly recommend watching them! Even if you think they are mainstream and basic! Enjoy!
1. The Best of Me
First off this is one of my all time favorite movies out there. I first watched it when it came out on DVD with a few friends and cried my eyes out! I don’t want to spoil the story line for anyone who hasn’t watched it yet but I will tell you the story line will hit you hard. It is so deep and emotional and the ending is where the tears start rolling in! Yet again Nicholas Sparks sends us all into our feels with another one of his amazing movies!
2. Safe Haven
This movie has always been a movie I can not get tired of watching. Each time I watch it I see new details I had never seen before. Originally I did not understand the true magnitude of the storyline but when I watched Safe Haven for a second time I finally understood. It is always nice to sit and watch a movie that reflects so highly on true love and that there is always a silver lining. I hate to say it once more but again Nicholas Sparks has really dominated the sappy drama genre these days!
3. White Chicks
I still can not believe this movie was produced in 2004! Honestly no funny chick flick has topped this one since then! When I am always looking for a good laugh I turn to White Chicks. I always find a new detail to laugh hysterically at when I watch it again! If you haven’t seen this amazing comedy, I can not tell you enough that you need to see it! It is worth the countless number of watches!
4. Titanic
Now this movie is a classic. I don’t think there is a single soul out there who has not at least heard of it! My family owns it on VHS, and that is enough said. This movie is heart wrenching to watch, due to the fact that it is a true event that happened in history and accurately depicts what it was like on the boat at that time. If you haven’t seen this movie you are definitely missing out!
5. Mean Girls
Yet another amazing hit from 2004! “If you’re from Africa, why are you white?” Gosh this movie gets me laughing to hard at the random comments throughout the movie! When I first watched this movie in high school I was like, this is my new favorite hands down. Of course some of the jokes are cheesy but it still gets everyone laughing. I you haven’t seen this movie you need to get on your Netflix account and watch it!
