5 Binge-Worthy TV Shows You Should Be Watching

Oftentimes, it can be hard to find a good TV show that makes you want to sit and watch it for hours. Either they're uninteresting, bland, or just not good. Here I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite TV shows that are hilarious, captivating, and all around incredible choices to binge watch.

1. Parks And Recreation

This political comedy sitcom starring Amy Poehler is definitely one of my favorite shows of all time. It follows the lives of government employees working for the parks and recreation department of small town Pawnee, Indiana. My favorite thing about Parks And Rec is the fact that it always manages to be funny, without being offensive. Also, if you’re a fan of The Office, you will love this show as it was designed to be a spin-off of The Office.

2. The Flash

The Flash is by far my favorite DCTV series. When I first started watching it, I wasn’t really into anything superhero-related, but this series immediately changed my mind. The show is based on DC Comics character Barry Allen, aka The Flash, who is a crime-fighting superhero with metahuman like speed played by Grant Gustin. It’s suspenseful, dramatic, contains lots of action, and even some romance. If you are looking to give the superhero genre a try, I definitely recommend this show.

3. How To Get Away With Murder

How To Get Away With Murder is undoubtedly my current favorite TV show. It is about a law professor named Annalise Keating played by Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis and her five students (nicknamed the Keating Five) who get caught up in multitudes of crime and drama while still attending law school. HTGAWM consists of unbelievable twists and turns, ultimately leaving you shocked at the end of each episode. The plot twists in this series are crazy, which to me is what makes it so entertaining to watch.

4. Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy is currently in its 13th season, and for good reason. The show follows a group of doctors, including the show’s namesake Meredith Grey, and their lives at work, as well as personally. It’s powerful, tragic, romantic, and incredibly emotional. This show will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, but every minute is worth it. Fair warning though, you will not be able to get through this series without crying.

5. 13 Reasons Why

Though quite new, 13 Reasons Why has become one of my all-time favorite shows, solely based on the message it contains. The Selena Gomez-produced series is about a teen girl named Hannah Baker who commits suicide and leaves behind 13 tapes containing 13 reasons as to why she commits suicide, each reason being a person. It’s incredibly real, and does an amazing job of displaying what teens in this day and age really go through, and will definitely make you think twice before you speak as what may seem small to you, might be totally different for another person. I cannot stress this enough: this show is incredibly graphic. If you feel that watching this may jeopardize your mental health, then please don’t. Your safety comes first.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
