List Challenges

1. Psalm 18

This is on of my favorite chapters in the Bible. I love the picture of God showing his love for His people through His righteous anger for those who have hurt them. I think it is a great picture of how He saved us from our sin. We were hopeless and sinful, but He reached down and saved us. This is a great reminder of His love when the semester is feeling hopeless

2. 2 Corinthians 12:9

I love this verse because I can relate to it so much in my life. We are so weak, but He is SO strong! We do not have to worry about being perfect or getting perfect grades because He is working in us. He can use what we accomplish through Him, but He loves us no matter what our GPA is.

3. Psalm 100:4

This verse reminds us to praise God and thank Him. "Enter His courts with GLADNESS." This is very hard to do and remember when things are not going our way. When I have a bad day the best thing for me to do is spend time with the Lord and worship Him. This helps me to get my priorities straight and realize that I am only here for Him.

4. Jeremiah 29:11

This verse is taken out of context many times in our society. While it was true for the people in the story that it is in, it is also true for us. God knows what is going to happen, and we do not have to worry about it. In college it seems that the future is continually looming over us, but with God we have a bright future in His Glorious Plan.

5. Matthew 28:16-20

This is ultimately why we are here. REMEMBER we are not here to get an education, a job, a house, a spouse, children, or anything else!!! We are here to glorify God and tell others about Him. This is so encouraging because when these things don't happen in life we still have hope! We are here to proclaim His Name boldly here at home and to the ends of the earth.

So do not get caught up in the day to day, but rather have an eternal mindset daily! And have a great semester!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
