Thanks to ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas, many of us are blessed with Christmas movies almost nonstop from December 1 to December 25! However, does ABC really play the best holiday movies of all time? With this year's line-up, it can be debatable. With newer movies and not as many classics, how do we really know what the best Christmas movies of all time are? Well, here's a list of the best classics of the season!
1. It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
If you haven't watched this movie about George Bailey, you really need to! While it is definitely an older movie, it is 100 percent a Christmas classic. When Bailey wishes he was never born, an angel comes and shows him what life would be like if his wish came true. He realizes how much of an impact he had on people's life. It's a Wonderful Life is a movie for the whole family and full of lessons!
2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
Christmas Vacation is one of the funniest Christmas classics around. All Clark Griswold wants is to have the perfect Christmas for his family. Of course, that's when everything bad that could happen, happens. It doesn't help when his redneck cousin and his family show up. From there, the vacation just goes downhill. Watch Christmas Vacation this Christmas and you won't have a dull moment!
3. Home Alone (1990)
Have you ever been left home alone? What about over Christmas while your family leaves for Paris? That's exactly what happens to Kevin McCallister. After he misbehaves the night before the trip, he gets sent to his room. That night, the power goes out so everyone wakes up to the taxis and rushes around. Everyone but Kevin, that is. Join him in his crazy adventure stuck at home!
4. A Christmas Story (1983)
All Ralphie Parker wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder B.B. gun. Specifically a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock. When he opens his presents on Christmas, does he open the B.B. gun or not? Watch A Christmas Story to find out!
5. White Christmas (1954)
Starring Bing Crosby, obviously this movie must be a classic! When two World War II performing soldiers see an act by two sisters, both of them are smitten. Do they all fall in love in the end or is it just a fling? Watch the classic and see for yourself!
