We're all familiar with the Pinterest app or the TimeHop app that wakes us up every morning just to bring back awkward photos of the past, but there's always a few apps that are just a little out there that maybe we'd never heard about before. I'm talking about those apps that you randomly got one day because your friend's friend's cousin said it was pretty cool, and then what happened? You downloaded it and got addicted!
1. AllTrails, by AllTrails, Inc.
This little gem is a wonderful tool for those of you that love to get outdoors and go hiking. The app will show you all the trails that are near your current location and lists whether the trail is easy, intermediate, or difficult. The app also features ratings of the trail so users can see what others have been saying about it and how well it compares to other nearby trails.
2. Survey Mini, by Service Management Group, Inc.
For those of you that like to complete surveys on places you've visited in turn for various rewards, this is the app for you. Users will get new surveys based on the restaurants, shops, and attractions that they visit. When you complete surveys on somewhere you visited, you can earn points. Earn enough points and you'll be eligible to get tons of free stuff, such as $10 or even $50 coupons.
3. 5k Runner, by FITNESS22 LTD
Maybe you've got an upcoming marathon or 5k or maybe you'd just like to brush up your running skills. Whatever your purpose may be, the 5k Runner app is perfect for getting more in shape. Simply activate the app while you're running, and it will tell you when to walk and when to start running again. It gives you all the appropriate intervals so you don't have to think about it for yourself. Users can also track what kind of terrain they completed their exercise on and add emoticons for if the run went good, bad, or somewhere in between.
4. Find Friends, by Apple
With this awesome app that you don't even have to worry about visiting the AppStore to download, your friends can literally never be out of your site. Users can friend and follow their friends to begin sharing their location with one another. They have the option to share it for a certain amount of time like 10 minutes or follow each other indefinitely, making one another's location available at the click of the button. You'd be surprised how helpful this little app comes in handy when you can't seem to figure out where you roommates or squad has ran off to.
5. Sittercity, by Sittercity
Many of us that work in the field of child care and nannying may be all too familiar with the Care.com site and its uses for those looking for a nanny or looking for a nanny job. Now there's another company, Sittercity, that is acting as Care.com's competitor. Sittercity offers basically the same services that Care.com does, however since fewer people know about it, you're more likely to get more replies that come to your inbox faster than they probably would if you were using a bigger nanny service site such as Care.com.
