3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is right around the counter. On June 13th the biggest names in gaming and electronics will all be under the same roof in Los Angeles, ready to blow our minds with amazing new technology! Year after year, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo battle for the top spot as they announce their upcoming consoles, games, and other gadgets.
Last year, Sony had the best showing at E3 by far announcing a new "God of War", "Horizon: Zero Dawn", and more Virtual Reality than anyone can handle. However, Microsoft made some great announcements, especially their upcoming hardware, Scorpio, but gave a very loose release date. This year is winding up to have some pretty big hits, including some massive announcements from Nintendo as their first big line-up of games for the Switch, should be hitting shelves this holiday season.
Without further ado, here are 5 things I want to see announced at E3 2017:
1. "God of War 4"
"God of War" brutality + Norse Mythology. What else could a "God of War" fan ask for? I'm hoping there's a ton more gameplay shown off and, by the grace of the PlayStation gods, a release date.
2. Project: Scorpio
Microsoft's new console has some of the most insane specs we've ever seen on a console, especially with a renewed focus on 4K gaming. If all goes well, we'll be getting a release date and a handful of new titles to take advantage of the increased graphics. Maybe some updated titles like "Crackdown 3", and "Halo Wars 2" could be exclusives with some release dates?
3. "Borderlands 3"
Please, please, please, 2k Games, make this real. The Borderlands series is one of the greatest Shooter-Adventure games ever made. After getting teased by DLC released for "Borderlands 2" and the Telltale series, I need a full game. Give me that bandit-killing goodness. I can't take much more of these crazy rumors about a 2018 release, I need something substantial!
4. Mario Switch Bundle
The Nintendo Switch got some pretty mixed attention. Some gamers thought it was super gimmicky, while others thought it was the greatest thing since the GameBoy. I honestly feel like what the Switch was missing was a great bundle and some of the key Nintendo titles. Give me a new "Super Metroid," a new Mario, and maybe even a new "Earthbound" game and the Switch will easily catapult to the top spot.
5. "Kingdom Hearts 3"
It's been over a decade since "Kingdom Hearts 2." 12 years since I got to partner up with Goofy and kick the crap out of some baddies. We got the announcement trailer in 2013, but haven't heard anything else since. Hopefully, this E3 will have a ton of gameplay videos and trailers for the upcoming title. If all our dreams come true, maybe we even get a release date.
