With the summer season coming up, why not revisit your childhood and entertain yourself on those scorching hot days with a trip to an amusement park? Pennsylvania alone has an extensive list of parks with many hidden treasures that will help you take advantage of your days spent in the sun.

1. Hershey Park- Hershey, PA

Nicknamed the sweetest place on earth, Hershey park is the place to go this summer if you’re ready for thrilling rides, beach themed water parks, and some sweet treats. Hershey has everything to offer including your classic carnival and arcade games all the way to a zoo that is included in your ticket admission price. On your way out you can even stop right next door at Hershey’s Chocolate World for a chocolate tour, some sweet merch, and many other interactive and chocolatey adventures.

2. Dorney Park- Allentown, PA

Much like Hershey, Dorney park has any kind of ride you can think of-- roller coasters, thrill rides, family rides, and rides for kids too. Since the park is Peanuts themed, stop on over to see Snoopy and the rest of the gang in the section of the park called Planet Snoopy. The admission ticket also includes full access to the Wild Water Kingdom.

3. Knoebels Amusement Resort- Elysburg, PA

Come one, come all to America’s largest free-admission amusement park. Yes, you heard me correctly, it’s free to get into the park! If you want to ride some rides you have to purchase tickets, but this is the perfect amusement park to go to if you still want to walk around and get some food and enjoy some entertainment. Fun, food, and fantasy-- Knoebels Amusement Resort!

4. DelGrosso’s Amusement Park- Tipton, PA

Home to famous fun and family food, DelGrosso’s is a reasonably priced amusement park that has over 30 rides and attractions. Both children and adults can enjoy thrilling rides, fun midway games, multiple types of entertainment, and delicious food. DelGrosso’s also features an extensive Italian themed water park which includes many replicas and interactive fixtures to play around with while cooling off.

5. Camelbeach Waterpark- Tannersville, PA

Known as Camelback ski resort in the winter, Camelbeach is the summer and water friendly version of the outdoor park. Camelbeach contains lots of water fun for everyone. If you feel like relaxing throughout the day, then you can float around in the lazy river or sit out by the wave pool to tan. When it’s time for rides, Camelbeach features various different tube and body slides that the whole family can enjoy. Zip line riding, among other adventures, makes Camelbeach the perfect day trip for any point in the summer.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
