40 Thoughts Every Sorority Girl Has During Recruitment Rounds

Sorority recruitment is a whirlwind for anyone and everyone involved. Round after round we get in a rhythm and eventually just zone out to whatever is happening around us, so I thought I'd remind you. So without further ado, here are 40 thoughts most girls have during recruitment rounds.

1. I am a zombie, I am a physical and emotional zombie, why am I up this early?

2. Why did I get up extra early just to get pictures? Where's my coffee?

3. Okay girls are almost here, adrenaline is finally pumping through my veins...or maybe it's just my double espresso shot

4. Shoot, will I have coffee breath taking to PNMs now? At least my recruitment chair will spritz me with Febreze to distract

5. OMG it's time for pick ups! *mentally chants* Please let my girl be amazing, please let my girl be amazing.

6. Do I put my hand on that girls back? Do I not put my hand on her back?

7. Whew, made it my spot with the girl, now can everyone just keep their convos to a dull roar?

8. Ugggg I wish I could sit out just one round, I'm literally sweating buckets

9. Can this girl see the sweat coming through my shirt?

10. Hiding quietly sounds so nice right now...

11. *When you’re not recruiting that round so you get to hide*

12. Okay I'm back to reality, this girl loves freshman dorms and game days, yay!

13. I wonder if she likes the game days or *TrUe GaMeDAyS*

14. Annnnnnd now she's asking about the frats, that answers that question.

15. So funny this PNM’s mention of frat boys when you know the harsh reality

16. Maybe she's not all aggressive, after all she was captain in her high school sports and our intramural team needs some new blood

17. When you're trying to relate to your PNM's heinous story and trying to tie it back to your house and why it's great

18. I just really want to talk to her about non controversies, help!

19. She's one of those where you try to jump in to what she's talking about with your own relatable content but then she changes the subject before you can tell her, thanks!

20. Okay okay I'm holding the convo, I can make it to drop offs *nervously thinks about timing while still trying to hold convo*

21. She's literally mentioning the 4 Bs, my mind is just...

22. "Well we have great Greek relations with all the houses."

23. Walking her to the door thank god, step, pivot, girl bye.

24. Next round, I'm so hungry and lunch isn't for another three hours. #prayforme

25. Ahhhh this girl's not bad at all! She's bubbly and loves to volunteer, good for you GF!

26. Wait, I actually really enjoy her, what if she's not enjoying me? Gotta find her passion.

27. She has a french bulldog, I want a french bulldog, she loves the same music as me, and she eats Papa Johns on the reg...future g little material!!!

28. But I don't want to be bumped, I just want to talk to this girl more!

29. Fine, I'll just wait 'til this round is over then stalk my group to see what everyone else thought about her...but also she's mine.

30. #ontothenextone

31. My feet are started to look like swollen sausages, whoever said wedges were comfy can please leave.

32. Why wasn't I kitchen or tech crew? Oh right, smile and clap, smile and clap and don't forget to breath.

33. Crap it's raining outside, now the PNMs feel like wet puppies taking shelter, don't worry I won't judge you for your wet hair if you don't judge me for the bags under my eyes!

34. This. Girl. Is. So. Quiet.

35. Welp, now she's talking about anime, time to whip out my elementary school Yu-Gi-Oh knowledge...thank God for brothers.

35. "Hi, this is _____ and we were just talking about Yu-Gi-Oh, hope you have a great conversation!"

36. I can breathe, recruitment chair is saying times up and I can see the light...kind of.

37. *Thinking about having 12 more open house rounds and you don’t know if you can make it*

38. Okay mild mental breakdown, back to reality, these girl will leave my legacy for this chapter I got to pull through!

39. *whips through round and has the PNM laughing and smiling the whole time*

40. The door finally closing and that feeling comes when I know I nailed that round

Hope these thoughts were relatable and good luck with recruitment ladies!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
