Finals week is approaching or is already here. We all knew this week was coming and should be prepared to do awesome on all of our finals! While preparing for finals, it is easy to forget things that we usually know or remember things that cause us to feel the way we do at the time (stressed, confused, pressed, etc.). Through finals week, we have to remember these things so that we can reach our full potential:
1. Hard work pays off.
You did not make it this far into college for nothing. Things may not seem to have been the best for you this semester but you still got this! If you put a lot of time into studying and practicing for your finals, the benefits will be good for you. I know it is easier said than but your effort determines the probability of your success.
2. Failure is success.
The goals you made going into the semester might did not turn out the way you expected. You might feel that this semester was a failure in your eyes. For you to be the best person you can be (or become successful), you will have to experience failure. Do not get so down on yourself but use this as a learning experience. For you to achieve your goals and become a successful person, you first have to learn from your failures, acknowledge your mistake(s) and do things differently.
3. This is YOUR time.
Let’s say this semester, you may did not do your best when it came to your tests and quizzes. Finals give you an opportunity to redeem yourself and show what you are made of. You may feel like you do not have much of a chance to do as well as you want on your finals but you actually do! Take advantage of this opportunity! This is your moment to use your resources you may did or did not know you had. Go all out on your finals! It is your moment to shine!
4. Eat!
It is finals time and we may not be ourselves because we are not getting as much sleep, putting in a relentless effort to study or some other personal reason. While this effort may be good, we may not be as efficient and focused because of this. You may forget to eat a lot or may not eat as often as you are supposed to. With that being said, make sure you eat so you are getting the necessary nutrition you need. It also helps you stay more focused instead of more hungry. Take a 30-minute to a one hour break to relax and eat so you can be more efficient while studying.
Finals can be stressful and can give us many doubts about college and life. Remember that you are OK! You are putting in the necessary effort and work to be the best. Therefore, you will do excellent on your finals. You got this! Good luck on your finals!
