Throughout the years, we meet new people and make new friends. However, there is always one person or a small group of people that you know will be your best friends forever. You can't go a day without talking to them at least once, and you can talk to them about anything. Today I want to thank my best friends for teaching me 4 things:
1) Patience
We may like to stay over and pull all nighters, but lets be real. We get sick of each other at one point and get to the point of pulling our hair out. However, with the right friends, we learn patience. We may argue, but it always turns out better in the end. It only makes our bonds stronger. So thank you guys for making my stubborn self grow up and realize that it all works itself out, that with time things do get better.
2) Trust
Whether it's about a boy, a family issue, or even stupid gossip we saw on the internet, I know I can trust you guys with everything. It's great knowing that I always have someone there to listen, even if you don't care what I'm saying because you have heard it a hundred times before. I can tell you my deepest secrets and know that it will remain between us. So thank you for letting me let my guard down and showing me what it means to really trust people.
3) Self-Confidence
You know when I tried that dress on and you guys told me it was cute even though I knew it made my hips look big? You all never seize to build me up when I am bringing myself down. Y'all know just what to say to make me feel better. And maybe you don't realize it, but if effects me more than you know. Because of you guys I wear stuff I would never have thought of even trying on in the store, and I have so much respect for myself than I ever imagined. So thank you for making me love me.
4) Truth
I can always count on you guys to tell me the truth. Whether its telling me the guy I'm crushing on is not for me, or telling me my hair looks hideous that day, I can always count on you guys to look out for me. When it comes to advice, I can always count on you guys to give me honest opinions whether I like it or not. We can tell when one of us is lying because we can't keep a straight face, and we eventually get the truth out of each other. So thank you for always having my back and being honest even if its not what I wanted to hear.
There are many things I can thank my best friends for, but these are the most important. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for you guys. Thank you for being apart of my lives, and making me a better me. Thank you for those late night FaceTime calls that keep me sane after not seeing you guys for a month. Most of all, thank you guys for being my best friends.
