Senior year already? I bet you didn’t think college would go by that fast. Microwaveable mac and cheese for breakfast, XL twin dorm beds, going out on a Monday night, and waking up five minutes before class all seem to be a thing of the past now. We can all agree that basically everything seems to change from freshman year to senior year, but there are four major changes that stick out when you're a senior looking back on freshman year.
1. Education
You actually wake up at a decent time now, study, and make an effort to be productive. Suddenly you find yourself asking your friends if they want to study instead of if they want to go out. Remember that degree you’re trying to pursue? You realize your education is important and that you, in fact, do want to graduate.

2. Your social life changes.
Suddenly you find yourself staying home with your roommates in sweatpants with cheap wine. You find yourself doing laundry at strange hours of the night in between studying. You regret none of it and are probably better off in the comfort of your own home than at a sweaty, overcrowded bar. Staying in is cool. You’re growing up.

3. Dating.
Slowly but surely you realize the chances of meeting a decent guy at a bar are slim. You’d much rather go on a real date, you know, where you can actually talk and maybe even eat some cool food. Personality, goals and their interests suddenly matter more to you than their physical appearance.

4. Friendships.
More than likely your friendships are going to change throughout college due to your major, hobbies, and interests. You understand now that it’s important to surround yourself with positive people who are going to push you to do your best. You realize now that friendships aren’t so much about going out and drinking or having fun. You see that now you'd rather have a small group of genuine friends than a large group of people to "hangout" with.

The years spent in college are going to be some of the best and hardest times of your life. You realize that you learn way more about yourself than whatever you're reading in your textbooks. That’s really what college is. A learning experience in order to better yourself, and of course, to get that degree.
