We've all been there. You had the best weekend; super relaxing, catching up with friends, going on adventures, all around fun. But with the end of the weekend comes Monday, the most hated word in the English language. Sunday evening, a feeling of dread comes over you, knowing that the next day you have to get up early, go to school or work, existing in the actual world and not some weekend fantasy world. I think most of us start off the week hating the world, but what we should start off the week with is a positive attitude. For that reason I have complied a list of songs to start the week off with a good attitude, rather than a sense of dread.
1. "I'm Good" -The Mowgli's
"I’m good, I’m good, I’m good, I’m good
Living life just like I should
Wouldn’t change it if I could
I’m good, I’m good, I’m good"
We should live life like it was intended to be lived; not with a sense of dread or anxiousness, but with purpose and adventure. The only way we are going to feel "good" is if we take advantage of all the opportunities that life throws at us. The fast pace of this song will make you want to just get up and dance.
2. "Best Day of My Life" -American Authors
"This is gonna be the best day of my life
My life
I hear it calling outside my window
I feel it in my soul
The stars were burning so bright..."
I really enjoy listening to the American Authors. They don't sing about relationships and love for the most part, but about everything in life; just living. This song is really catchy. It might get stuck in your head throughout the day, but honestly, is it such a bad thing to sing "This is gonna to be the best day of my life" over and over? I recommend setting this song as your alarm in the morning. It's a great way to start a Monday.
3. "Go Big or Go Home" -American Authors
"I'm thinking life's too short, it's passing by
So if I'm gonna go at all
Go big or go
Go big or go home..."
This is another great song by American Authors. Basically the lyrics are saying to give something your all or don't do it at all. If we are to live a full life, we should make a true effort to think positively and be ambitious.
4. "Sweet Serendipity" -Lee DeWyze
"And I’m doing just fine
I’m always landing on my feet
In the nick of time
And by the skin of my teeth
I ain’t gonna stress
Cause the worst ain’t happened yet
Something's watching over me
Like Sweet Serendipity
Sometimes we get so stressed that we think the world is ending. But it's important to know that the world is, in fact, not ending. We all go through rough patches but it's important to remember that they're just patches.
