We all know that feeling you get when you haven't spoken to your mother in a while and you get that "remember me?" text. It's always important to remember that your mother is the most important person in the world and she's your biggest cheerleader in life, so don't take her for granted and forget to send her a good morning text even when your schedule is packed. Here are four major reasons why you need to call your mom right now.
1. She always knows just what to say
While sometimes we can be reluctant to tell our moms things, we know that when we do she's going to say the right thing to make us feel better. Telling her our problems may spike our emotions, sometimes thats all we really need in order to feel better, and mom is the perfect person to receive all of those emotions. So next time you skip out on calling your mom, think about how much her words are going to mean when you tell her about the boy who screwed you over, or the economics test you're about to fail.
2. Sometimes you just need to hear the sound of her voice
(Is Lauren Graham not the best TV mom ever?)
Since our lives are so busy, it's easy to forget the smoothing nature of moms voice. Sometimes a regular conversation with her after not hearing her voice for a while can solve every problem we have just by the natural sound of her "hello?" when she picks up the phone. Regardless of the words that she says while you two are speaking, her voice reminds you of being home with your cat or dog and being comfortable in your own bed. When homesickness starts to take over your emotions, give your mom a call to get those home vibes back in your system.
3. She's always right
I know we're all thinking that our moms aren't ALWAYS right, but when you think back to all of those times you went against what she said, she ended up being right in the first place. So lets skip all of that teenage angst and really admit that our moms are always right. As difficult as it might be to admit, sometimes we need to speak to our moms to get some real advice that we know is right. Her words of wisdom mean more to you than nobody else's, which is why it's important to call her before you talk to anybody else. Ultimately you will end up finding her advice the most helpful, so skip the meaningless banter between you and your acquaintances, and call the one person who's opinion means more than anyone else's.
4. She misses you
And we all know what happens next: the little boy cries because he knows he's lying at the end of this clip. Besides the fact that our moms are our best friends, we are also their best friends. We have to be keep that strong connection between us and our mothers alive by making sure we call them, even sometimes when we may not have the time. The bond between a mother and her child is extremely strong, and by calling our mothers when we are away from home, we keep that bond alive. Mother's don't usually ask for much, but when they do, it's usually so they can hear the sound of our voices. So call your mom. If not for your sake, then do it for her sake.
