Four Places To Roadtrip To

The weather is getting cool, the leaves are changing, and there is a new season coming into full swing. While sometime the cold weather is a dreaded part of the change, a new season means new memories to make. As a college student doing the same thing every weekend is very boring so why not grab your friends and go one a mini road trip? Here are my top favorite mini road trips that I think everyone should try out.

PIGEON FORGE

Although it is nestled up in mountains, there is so much to do in Pigeon Forge, from casual shopping to Dolly World, your list of activities for a fun-filled weekend is so long you cannot be bored. Spend a day in the shops and doing what the locals do, then spend a day being a tourist and go to Dolly World and love it.

NASHVILLE

Grab your boots and get ready for some good music and good food. Nashville has some of the best artists and some of the best music. Nashville is home to the Country’s Music Hall of Fame, which is really cool to go to, but also walking down the streets of Nashville there is always someone playing music on the corner of the street. Let’s not forget the Grand Ole Opry, which is a must.

CHARLESTON

Walking up and down the streets of Charleston you can see the pretty homes and soak in the great atmosphere of one of the cutest cities in the Carolinas. Also, another big plus is it being a city on the coast the Seafood is very fresh which means that it is very good. So have fun, kick back by the coast, watch the sunset, and enjoy some crab legs.

SAVANNAH

Head on down to River Street and eat your weight in some really good seafood. During the day take a walking tour and see the unique buildings and architect of historical Savannah. At night, take a ghost tour of old Savannah and be ready to be spooked out. If you like to learn about new cities, I highly encourage you to check out all the different museums that Savannah has. If you would rather just enjoy the company of your friends, just sit along the river watch the boats and enjoy the outdoors.

So no matter what you decide to do, an adventure is always right around the corner. So again, grab your friends, pack light if you can, make sure you have a playlist and hit the road. We are only young once, we might as well make the most memories with our friends while we can before we all go different ways.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
