Disney World is commonly known as the "happiest place on earth." It's also one of the top vacation hot spots in the United States. The avid Disney World vacationer understands and has experienced the wonder and magic that exists at the theme park that Walt, unfortunately, could not see completed. His big dreams echo throughout the entire property; it has become the place where families can go and spend time together just as Walt wanted.
Personally, Disney World is my favorite place to go on vacation. My favorite part of every trip is taking those first steps down Main Street and glimpsing at the castle for the first time. I'm going to share with you my must do's to ensure that you get the most out of your Disney vacation.
1) Where to Stay
I am a firm believer that if you're going to Disney for most of your vacation, you should stay at Disney. Disney World has more than 20 hotels to choose from all in different price ranges to suit your needs. Each hotel has a different theme and atmosphere to it; you could spend your stay in a room inspired by the culture of Africa or enjoy a room under the sea in a Little Mermaid themed setting. Disney World provides multiple transportation accommodations to make travel to the parks a breeze. In additions, the cast members work nonstop to make sure that your stay is comfortable and feels just like home.
2) What to Do
I can't stress enough how Disney is more than just an amusement park for kids. Don't get me wrong, there's no shame in taking a spin on Dumbo or floating down the canals of It's a Small World, but there are many more options for adults than many people realize. There's world-renowned entertainment, amazing food and plenty of thrills for older audiences. There are musical shows with live actors and special effects, safaris with exotic animals from different regions of Africa, everyone's favorite characters to meet and take pictures with, representations of 11 different countries and cultures to experience and so much more. It's just a matter of exploring what Disney World has to offer.
3) Relax
There's so much to do at Disney. There are so many things to experience that it's easy to get caught in the trap of doing as much as you can fit in your as possible. But remember: you're on vacation. The point of a vacation is to relax and de-stress, right? Take a break from the parks during your stay. My advice is simple: plan a day at the halfway point of your vacation to take it easy. Take a pool day at the hotel or do some shopping at Disney Springs. Taking things slow is the way to go.
4) Make some Memories
Doing Disney solo isn't a bad thing. In my opinion, going with your family or a group of friends is the best way to make memories. Trying new things is a great way to bond. You want to look back on your vacation photos and say, "that was a great day." The goal of my trip is to sit back, relax and just make some great times with the people I love. Because I know for a fact that my family and I will remember our adventures down in the "happiest place on Earth" for years to come.
