4 Facts Of Life When You Have Long Distance Best Friends
  1. You have to put more effort into staying in touch: When you see someone everyday it is so easy to stay friends. When you have the same classes, or live in the same place you don’t have to put in any effort to see your friends or go out of your way to make time to talk to them. When you and your friends don’t live in the same place however, it means that you have to remind yourself to keep in touch and keep them updated. Everyone is busy and all of you will have other friends but it is important to remember why these people are so important to you in the first place and put in the effort to keep those friendships.
  2. Every time you see them is exciting: When you don’t see your friends on the daily and everyone lives hours away it just means that it is all the more exciting when you are all together. Often times when you see your friends everyday it is easy to take them for granted but having friends far away ensures that you remember how lucky you are to have the people you do as friends.
  3. Skype will become your best friend: Texting is great but it gets a bit boring and not seeing someones face makes it harder to have a conversation. Thankfully we live in a world where skype is a think and you will take advantage of it. Even if they are hour long skype calls where neither of you are saying much or are just carrying on doing your own thing it helps it feel like they are there with you.
  4. You never run out of things to talk about: Catching up after weeks or even months means that you and your friends never run out of things to talk about. There are some things that you can only tell your friends in person!

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
