4 Awesome Trailers For Movies You'll Never See

4 Awesome Trailers For Movies You'll Never See

Luckily, we live in a world where fandom exists on so many platforms. Writers, artists, graphic designers, analysts, and video editors all have their own mediums by which to express their love. Within YouTube, video editors (or vidders, as they're called) have started a trend of making fake movie trailers out of their favorite TV shows by reinventing them as romantic feature films. Some of them are so good, you'd likely mistake them for legitimate movie trailers if you weren't familiar with the source material.

Below are four such trailers, exceptionally well-dome and genuinely interesting—so much so that you'll lament the fact that they will never be full-length movies.

4. The Rabbit Hole ("Castle")

This trailer actually doesn't stray too far from the original plot of "Castle." Writer Richard Castle is stuck in a rut, meets Detective Kate Beckett, and finds his life suddenly in full-bloom. From there, the story progresses to include the unsolved murder of Beckett's mother and Castle's insistence on reopening the case. The trailer focuses equal parts on Castle and Beckett's relationship and their own individual relationships with the cold case. Plus, the creator used "Stop and Stare" by OneRepublic in the end, so it has to be good.

3. Carer & Caretaker ("Doctor Who")

Can we appreciate for a second how cute Jenna Coleman is? Okay. Good. Since that's over, let's appreciate how cute this trailer is. It's obvious that the creator was very picky about everything she chose—scenes, voice clips, music, even the font she used is so well-suited to the feel of her trailer. And the precision it must have taken to match those short audio snippets to the rhythm of the background music is genius. I'm possibly biased because it's Twelve-centric and I love Twelve, but regardless, this could be an actual preview shown at theaters before the season's latest indie flick. I'm not even a huge fan of the premise of "Doctor Who" (the whole "time-traveling space alien" thing is true), but I would pay to see this movie in a heartbeat.

2. A Lot Like Codependency ("Supernatural")

It's a little frightening how much material exists within "Supernatural" for a non-canon ship. Specifically, a non-canon ship that is Sam and Dean. But nevertheless, it is there, and this vidder took advantage of it. Her trailer is for the romantic comedy version of "Supernatural" seasons 1-5. Really, it's not too far off, considering show creator Eric Kripke called season 5 "the epic love story of Sam and Dean." But this trailer is much less about the actual hunting business, which is all right with me. Plus, the text effects are brilliant. And the title is so accurate it hurts.

1. The Dating Game ("Sherlock")

Okay, this one is hands-down my favorite fake movie trailer, and not just because I'm on a "Sherlock" kick right now. I think the idea for this is ingenious. To take Sherlock's iconic "The game, Mrs. Hudson, is on!"phrase and turn it into matchmaking of all things is hilarious and unprecedented. It keeps "the game" as The Work, Sherlock's beloved freelance occupation, but instead of consulting with the police, Sherlock is matching people in efforts to help them find love. And then, of course, he finds himself serendipitously matched. Cue the chorus of "aww" and gentle tears from the audience—or at least from me.

So many good movies have been released in the past couple years, but none I have wanted to see as badly as these above. Maybe it's because the characters are already so familiar and well-loved, and seeing them in these new environments is intriguing. Maybe it's because there is no definite plot and therefore any kind of story or closure outside of the fake trailer is up to the viewer. Either way, if you're like me and already watch promos for real movies in your free time, these fake trailers are just all the more to love.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
