39 Thoughts You Have While Watching HGTV
Portela Weinzetel

As an avid HGTV watcher, I can say that without a doubt it's my favorite network. House Hunters? Fixer Upper? Property Brothers? These are just three of more than a dozen shows that the network offers! If you watch these shows, then I know for a fact that that you have had some of these thoughts.

1. Chip and Joanna Gaines love is as real as they come

2. The clip show really is the Chip show!

3. Hey, I have that same backsplash in my kitchen!

4. Those archways are fantastic! @Mom, we need to get some of those

5. How the heck do they have a $1.6 million budget when they own a coffee shop?!?!

6. I would have gone with house number two.

7. They are wasting so much money!

8. What the hell is in-floor heating?

9. I could probably remodel a house on my own

10. On second thought, probably not

11. This makes we want to go out and redo my room

12. That is the hideous lamp that I have ever seen

13. *Searches internet* wow these are some great houses in my neighborhood, that I could flip

14. How do I get on these shows?

15. Would my mom be cool with me tearing down the wall in between our kitchen and dining room, so that we can have an open floor plan?

16. Natural lighting is everything!

17. I want my house to look like that when I'm older

16. I need that bathroom ASAP!

18. Can I repaint the whole house?

19. I obviously need to go live in that town, those houses are cheap as heck!

20. Can I get my own show?

21. I should change my major

22. Interior design or construction?

23. Interior design, of course!

24. French doors are a must!

25. Do they get to keep that furniture?

27. I want to flip a house, but I don't want to pay for it

28. This should be called the couples who work together network. I swear all of the shows are hosted by couples! Why?!?

29. I want white washed flooring!

30. Why aren't any of these houses move in ready?

31. Those colors clash!

32. I want a tiny home!

33. Why didn't they add the second bathroom?

34. How can she show up to a construction site in heels?

35. All of these shows take place in the south

36. What is with the obsession over brick?

37. Colonial houses give me mixed feelings

38. What is with this house?!?

39. How do I stop watching?

Even though I don't always agree with buyers on the houses that they choose, that will not stop me from watching! There are so many things that you can learn from these shows. I know it sure does give me the motivation to do so many projects. On a more serious note, someone from HGTV, please hit me up! I want to be on one of your shows! Please! I'm begging here, dude!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
