39 Things Competitive People Understand
  1. Everything is a competition.
  2. You give 110% into everything you do.
  3. Except when you start losing.
  4. And then you wish that everyone else would stop taking things so seriously, like not everything is a competition.
  5. You've cried in public after losing many times.
  6. You can't play games on dates because you get too into whatever you're playing and scare your date.
  7. Losing is honestly the worst feeling in the world.
  8. You've screamed questionable things you at people you didn't even know.
  9. And then you felt badly. But you got over it.
  10. Even when you don't play the sport you can't help but to get intense when you watch it.
  11. Like standing on your couch screaming at the TV set intense.
  12. It's not that you're always right, but sometimes people have different opinions that are just plain wrong.
  13. And you'll let them know.
  14. And you won't give up until they give in.
  15. You're not crazy, you're just passionate.
  16. The majority of your stories start with, "Yeah, well one time I..."
  17. Sometimes being competitive is hard because you compare yourself to everyone around you to make sure that you're still winning.
  18. But if you're not it takes over all of your ability to think straight.
  19. You relate so hard with Claire from "Modern Family."
  20. When people tell you that you're wrong you pull out all the stops to prove that, in fact, they were wrong, and you were right the whole time.
  21. People are kind of scared to disagree with you.
  22. You take pride in that.
  23. People think that you have an attitude but honestly you're just saying things that everyone else is thinking.
  24. You're convinced that not only can athletes hear you while playing, but that they value your opinion.
  25. You lose your voice a lot from yelling.
  26. What is "friendly competition?"
  27. It's not that you're not a team player, but if you do it anyway other than yours you might pose the risk of losing and you can't let that happen.
  28. Starting new things is all fun and games until you haven't mastered it within five minutes and then you feel like your world is falling out.
  29. Frustration is a very real and very serious thing with you.
  30. "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from losing the game." Like that's great and all but you know what's better? Winning.
  31. That feeling when you lose and you're trying to keep it together so you're faking a smile and blinking back tears and everyone who really knows you is staying a good 10 feet away.
  32. And then someone you don't know very well comes up to you and tries to comfort you and you lose it and start screaming at them.
  33. "If you're not first, you're last." Truer words have never been said.
  34. It slowly kills you inside when you're babysitting and you have to let the kid win.
  35. Then again, you don't necessarily have to. Losing is good for character.
  36. You're not a sore loser.
  37. Because at the end of the day, being the best loser possible is also a competition.
  38. It's just that you really like winning, okay?!
  39. And that's not a crime.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
