35 Thoughts Every Odyssey Creator Has At 4:55 P.M. On A Wednesday
Kevin

I am the queen of procrastination. It doesn't matter if I love what I need to work on or if it's something that I dread. I will wait until the last minute to do anything, especially if that means I can watch an extra episode of "The Vampire Diaries" or take that extra 30-minute power nap that turns into an hour and a half.

And honestly, I'm the queen of cranking out my articles for Odyssey 15 minutes before the deadline, either because I've completely forgotten that it's Wednesday, or I've just procrastinated my week away. Anyways, I usually have some great thoughts at 4:55 p.m. on Wednesdays, and I can guarantee that the rest of you guys who post on Odyssey have them, too.

So, here are 35 thoughts that every Odyssey creator has at 4:55 p.m. on a Wednesday.

1. Dang, today has been a pretty good Wednesday.

2. Wait... it's Wednesday?

3. Oh no, I haven't written my article for the week.

4. That's fine, I'm sure I have plenty of time to write it.

5. Let me check what time it actually is.

6. Crap. It's 4:55 p.m. My deadline is in 5 minutes.

7. I have five minutes to write this article.

8. I don't actually think that I can do this, but I guess I have to try.

9. What can I write in 5 minutes with no difficult prep work and very little brainstorming?

10. Where is that list of topic ideas that I wrote after lunch yesterday?

11. Did anyone post article ideas in the GroupMe?

12. Success! Article ideas in the GroupMe. Day saved.

13. I can just write a listicle. That won't take me too long.

14. Wait, none of these prompts are for listicles.

15. Um, OK. Let's do a listicle about college.

16. I mean, that's what I did last week when I procrastinated, but if it's not broke, don't fix it.

17. Shoot, I only have 3 minutes before 5 p.m.

18. Focus!

19. I just need 25 Listicle items for this to pass as an article that I didn't forget about.

20. 10 down, 15 to go.

21. Finished writing with a minute to spare!

22. Crap, I have to find a cover photo.

23. Let's just take a stock photo off of Unsplash.

24. Tag time!

25. OK, metadata is something I can fix later?

26. I just need something catchy for a title.

27. Why can't I write good things?

28. Why do I do this every week?

29. Facebook description, Twitter description ... copy-paste that.

30. Submit!

31. Thank the Lord, I made the deadline.

32. I'm never allowed to do this again.

33. Why do they let me keep posting on Odyssey?

34. That process took five years off of my life.

35. I'm never procrastinating on my articles again. I'll try harder next week.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
