So you just got to campus for your first semester of college - congrats. So, now what? Here is 35 things to get you started:

1. Go to at least one sports game

2. Participate in or cheer on an intramural team

3. Hang out or play frisbee on the quad

4. Order pizza or takeout late at night

5. Use the campus gym facilities

6. Try a workout class (they are often free or reduced price during the beginning of the semester)

7. Visit the therapy dogs or animals that come to campus

8. Rent bikes from campus and bike around campus or your college town/city for the afternoon

9. Have a baking or cooking night with friends if you have access to a kitche

10. Have a movie night with friends or your floor

11. Watch a weekly show with your dorm mates on the common TV

12. Participate in at least one RA-sponsored activity

13. Attend a free campus speaker event or concert

14. Take advantage of events open to the public, such as Greek Life fundraisers, free movie nights for students, or open skating at the rink

15. Attend a campus formal if there is one, or a Greek Life or other organization formal

16. Go out to dinner off campus

17. Attend at least one college party to say that you experienced it!

18. Join at least one club

19. Go on an adventure with the outing club

20. Volunteer with your campus community service organization

21. Have a night in with your roommate

22. Purchase something that has your school name on it

23. Skype friends and family from home

24. Have fun decorating your dorm room

25. Create an interesting concoction in the dining hall

26. Try something new that you have never done before


27. Attend a campus play, chorus or band concert, or other arts related event

28. Do something by yourself, such as eating at the dining hall, going for a campus walk, or going to the gym alone. Realize that you can do things by yourself

29. Study on the quiet floor of the library

30. Take advantage of the extended library

study hours during exams

31. Attend at least one professor walk-in time or tutoring session


32. Live like a real college student and attend something just for the free food

33. Attend a theme or costume party (Halloween counts!)

34. Visit home during a break and enjoy the free laundry, home cooking, and showering without flip flops


35. Participate in a silly school tradition
