35 Things I Am Thankful For

I have so many things to be thankful for, but here are just a few.

35 Things I Am Thankful For

Yes, people, it's that time if year again, (no not Christmas time just yet). It's the time of year that comes before Christmas when everyone starts to spill what they're thankful for (even though we should be thankful all year long). Although I could never name every single thing I am thankful for, I would like to name just a few - big, small, funny, and serious. I hope this inspires you to sit and think about some of the things you are thankful for; who knows - maybe you could even express those thanks!

I'm thankful for...

1. Waking up today in good health.

2. My beyond-supportive parents who always have my back.

3. My protective brother, and how we have changed for the better over the past year.

4. My older sister who will always be there to listen and give good sisterly advice.

5. My brother-in-law, because he is always there to talk to.

6. My adorable niece who provides me so many laughs and good little hugs.

7. Zoe, my puppy, because, let's be honest, dogs make the world go round.

8. Food Network always playing my favorite shows right when I wake up.

9. Mississippi State University.

10. Hot, Iced, Frozen, Bottled - any type of coffee possible.

11. A car that allows me to visit home, and all my nearest and dearest friends.

12. The fact that I love to cook, so I am not always forced to eat ramen or mac and cheese (still delicious, though).

13. The friends who stand by me through anything.

14. The friends that make me laugh until I cry.

15. A God that I can always put my trust in.

16. Makeup, for those days when you really just can't face your true self.

17. Teachers who push due dates back, just because.

18. Teachers who cancel class.

19. Teachers who give take home tests.

20. My mom making an introducing me to Brussels sprouts because now I am so in love with them.

21. Chocolate, because chocolate.

22. The new gas station in town, because there are 12 new slushy machines and they're less than $2.

23. The fact that my best friend goes to school only 1 hour and 30 minutes away from me.

24. Netflix.

25. Popcorn (yes, I am still obsessed).

26. A mother, and others who know how to cook.

27. Tall Christmas trees that somehow end up in our living room every year.

28. A dad who gave me my sense of humor.

29. A mom who puts up with her daughter and husband cracking jokes and laughing all through dinner.

30. The app Houseparty, because it always gives a good laugh and keeps me connected with my friends.

31. Franklin, Tennessee, because it is and always will be home.

32. Starkville, Mississippi - it may be small, but it will always be my second home.

33. The fact that Monica Lee has the same love of Food Network and food that I do.

34. Every episode in all 10 seasons of "Friends," although it was nowhere near long enough.

35. A life where I have many people who love me and are watching out for me in many different ways, and who I know I can always count on for anything.

Hopefully, I have inspired you to think about some of the things you are thankful for this year. Be thankful, be merry, and eat lots. Gobble gobble!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
