I'm pretty sure I just packed my entire closet.

With every exciting vacation comes the dreaded task of packing for the trip. If you're headed to a beach, then it may be pretty easy to just throw in some swimsuits and cover-ups, but if you're traveling to just about anywhere else, you will most likely have to put a bit more thought into what you pack. If you're anything like me, you tend to bring way more than you actually need, just so that you are prepared for any adventure or possible weather. Here are 30 thoughts you most likely have while packing.

  1. I’m not going to overpack this time.
  2. I’ll be there for seven days, so I need seven outfits.
  3. LOL JK I need at least two per day.
  4. A girl has to have options.
  5. What if it rains?
  6. Should I bring my rain boots?
  7. But then that’s less room for clothes..
  8. I’ll just suffer if it rains. I need that room in the suitcase.
  9. I wonder what the weather is going to be like.
  10. Is it cold? Is it hot?
  11. I probably should check that before I pack.
  12. Whatever, I’ll just pack everything.
  13. 9 tops, 3 sweaters, 2 jeans, 4 jackets, 3 t-shirts, 2 leggings, and 6 pairs of shoes.
  14. Oh, I’ll just throw this top in my suitcase too, just in case.
  15. And that top...
  16. And this sweater...
  17. And these leggings.
  18. Ugh, my suitcase is almost full.
  19. Wait, I forgot pajamas.
  20. Did I pack my toothbrush?
  21. Oh, I’m going to need to use that before I leave, though.
  22. I hope I don’t forget to pack it in the morning.
  23. I swear if my shampoo spills in my bag I’ll die.
  24. Maybe I should put it in a plastic bag, just in case.
  25. I’ll bring my really big purse on the plane so I can throw more stuff in it.
  26. But I also want to bring that purse...
  27. And that purse...
  28. I’ll just bring them all.
  29. I hope this isn’t over the weight limit.
  30. Whatever, I’ll just pay the fine if it is (sorry, Dad).

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
