30 Thoughts That Go Through Your Head While Skydiving
Abby Seker

So, you have gone completely insane and decided that you are going to jump out of a plane 10,000 feet in the air. Here are some of the thoughts that might run in your head throughout the experience.

You walk into the facility..

  1. What the hell am I doing here?
  2. How did I get here? Oh yeah, my friend asked me if I wanted to go and I said yes.
  3. Do they show this instructional video to scare people out of doing this?
  4. This old guy with the long beard is really starting to freak me out.
  5. There are a lot of things to initial on this paperwork…
  6. I am currently signing my life away. Ok bye life.
  7. Hey look they have free water - it’s the least they can do since I’m paying so much for this picture and video package
  8. Photo ID.. do they think I’m trying to lie about my age or identity so I can skydive??
  9. Who in their right mind would try to lie about that? Then again who in their right mind would jump out of a plane…
  10. That airplane looks extremely small
  11. How safe is this?
  12. LOL the instructor doesn’t want to go with me because I’m wearing braids
  13. They are going to whip the hell out of him hahaha
  14. I’m sitting on the floor of a tiny airplane.. woah
  15. Not sure if I can do this
  16. Oh we’re actually going 10,000 feet up in the air now.. ok
  17. This plane seems a little.. okay very unsteady
  18. Wait, we’re only half way up right now?
  19. That's a long way down.. What if my parachute doesn't open?
  20. Stop asking me if I’m nervous, you’re making me more nervous
  21. For real shut up I'm trying to keep myself calm
  22. Seriously what the hell am I doing right now
  23. Do I have to jump or can I come back down with the pilot?
  24. Welp, no going back now
  25. Holy crap I’m about to jump out of this thing?
  26. HOLY SHIT
  27. MY MIND IS COMPLETELY CLEAR AND I CAN’T STOP SMILING
  28. The world is absolutely beautiful
  29. Can we go again? Like right now?
  30. Man, no words can explain this feeling.

You just jumped 10,000 feet out of a flying airplane. There are literally no words to explain the feeling, you really just have to take a leap of faith and experience it yourself. It is so worth it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
