When I was in the eighth grade, I realized for the first time that I was an "old soul." I was not your typical 13 year-old considering that my favorite singer was Frank Sinatra and my favorite movie was "Breakfast at Tiffany's." As an old soul, I constantly find myself wishing I could time-travel to see Simon and Garfunkel in concert or see Janis Joplin preform at Woodstock. I always tell myself that I should have been born in the 1920s, so I could understand what it was like to live during World War II and then see Neil Armstrong walk on the moon in 1969. I believe that old souls see the world differently than everyone else because we are always reflecting on the past. Here are some things that only old souls will understand and experience.

1. You mostly listen to the oldies.

2. You're trying to see all of your favorite living music legends in concert before they retire or die.

3. Your favorite movie is older than you are.

4. You feel like you were meant to be born during a different time.

5. You enjoy going to historical sites and museums.

6. You're always Googling historical events and people.

7. You love to hear stories about your family members witnessing historical events.

8. You could spend hours in an antique store, but this is the way your friends feel:

9. Your bedroom or home has vintage decorations.

10. You want to name your future kids or pets after your favorite historical figures.

11. You could spend hours watching YouTube clips that are from your favorite decade.

12. It saddens you that you will never understand what it was like to witness your favorite era in history.

13. You probably own or want to own a record player.

14. You are obsessed with the fashion from particular decade.

15. All of your favorite musicians, actors, and actresses are from the 1980s or earlier.

16. You are offended when your friends do not appreciate the same musicians or movies as you.

17. You sometimes relate more to your parents' friends than your own peers.

18. You have gone to concerts with your parents because you have the same taste in music.

19. The 20th century fascinates you.

20. You experience sadness when your favorite famous figures from the 20th century die.

21. You wish there were more throwback movies and TV shows on Netflix.

22. You own or want to own a first edition copy of your favorite record or book.

23. You love documentaries based on your favorite decade, band, or politician.

24. You love movies and TV shows that are set during your favorite time period.

25. You want to own a classic car someday.

26. You collect certain things because you know they will have historical value someday.

27. You wish you could time travel so you could see your favorite musician in concert during their prime.

28. You get excited when you meet someone that likes the same vintage stuff as you do.

29. You got overly excited when you would learn about your favorite time period in history class.

30. You hope to marry someone that loves all of the same vintage stuff as you do.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
