30 Things To Do Instead of Studying for Finals

Everyone’s favorite time of year is finally here: Finals! Finals season tortures students with a feeling of impending doom as they prepare for a few three-hour exams and a whole three months without their friends. You could study, but here’s a list of 30 things that are equally important that you should do during finals season, too.

1. Watch every cooking video you can on Facebook.

2. Make a new summer playlist.

3. Wait outside the Meatball Obsession stand until it finally opens.

4. Learn all the lyrics to "Hamilton" (seriously, do it).

Can't relate.

5. Sit in the dining hall all day and pay for everyone's meals (@freshmangirls).

6. Pack up your entire room.

7. Realize you're not leaving for two more weeks and unpack everything because you still need it.

8. Tag your roommate in every single "tag someone who is a..." picture.

9. Call your parents/siblings/grandparents/distant cousins/anyone who will talk to you.

10. Go on walks in the surrounding area of campus just to find dogs to pet.

11. Spend hours on Pinterest planning what your room will look like next year.

12. Send pictures of yourself with funny Snapchat filters to random people on your contact list.

13. Go on romantic dates with yourself to White Mountain and walk around the Res at sunset.

14. Collect good reaction gifs.

An example inspired by finals.

15. Write a super long email to your professor begging to get out of your final (bonus points for using your newly acquired reaction gifs).

16. Stalk yourself on every social media platform.

17. Watch makeup tutorials and fail miserably when you try to do them.

18. Comment on all your friends' awkward introductions from senior year in your class Facebook group.

19. Have a small panic attack because you have so much work to do.

20. Stop the panic attack, pretend your work doesn't exist, and avoid your problems.

21. Research every good brunch place near campus.

22. Have Wine Wednesday no matter what day of the week it is.

23. Play MASH with your friends for hours to plan your future.

24. Lay outside and get a nice tan/sunburn.

25. Send funny pictures to random usernames' print queues.

26. Look through every picture you have from the entire school year.

27. Cry.

28. Wait in line at Eagles over and over again until Maria knows your name.

29. Convince your parents that you can't see any of your grades until after you graduate.

30. Even better, convince them that your school actually doesn't have finals so they can come pick you up now.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
