30 Things Every College Freshman Should Hear

I know it can be kinda scary and nerve-wracking when you start going into college. It's a whole new chapter in the story that is your life with new places, people, situations, and challenges. Sometimes you just ask the universe to give you some sort of list to help guide you through your freshman year. Well, I have answered your prayers! Get ready for some wisdom that is going to be thrown at you!

1. Please, always go to class. Don't skip.

2. Do your homework. Turn in your assignments. Just do it.

3. Make sure to study, study, study.

4. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

5. Keep in contact with your friends and family back home.

6. Make as healthy choices as possible.

7. At all costs, avoid the drama.

8. Try an extracurricular and get involved.

9. Try to be as approachable as possible.

10. Be open to all of the new, unique people you will be meeting.

11. Keep your end goal in mind. You came for a degree, don't forget that.

12. Set personal goals for yourself, to help keep you on track.

13. Be aware of deadlines... they can creep up on you.

14. Get to know your professors, they'll appreciate the effort.

15. Take advantage of anything labeled as free.

16. Make some close friends. They'll help keep you sane.

17. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to new people.

18. Make sure to always get enough sleep... it's so important.

19. It's OK to get stressed, we all do. Just be sure to know what will help you destress.

20. It's awesome if you do, but you don't have to have everything figured out right now. You're young, and you have the right to change your mind.

21. Stay true to who you are, don't let anyone change you.

22. Create a schedule so that you don't forget about any class, club, meeting, or appointment.

23. Bring something that reminds you of home, it can help with being homesick.

24. Know your limits.

25. Be open to trying new things.

26. Keep your head up. Life is beautiful and you're in some of the most fun years of your life.

27. Save money wherever you can. We all know how high that tuition bill can be.

28. Don't be that guy that wears pajamas to class everyday. Just don't do it.

29. Caffeine will become your new best friend, whether it's coffee, soda, tea, or (healthy) energy drinks.

30. Don't forget to have fun. Just make sure to balance fun time with study time.
