30 Reasons Why "The Notebook" Made Me Believe In Love

There are two kinds of people in this world: hopeless romantics who love anything to do with love, passion and Nicholas Sparks and then everyone else. Some people hate romantic movies altogether while others just believe that movies like The Notebook are too sappy, fantasized, unrealistic and overdramatic. Contrary to what these people think, The Notebook is also about trust, class struggle, arguments, heartbreak, confrontation, commitment and following your heart. This movie made me fall in love with idea of love and gave me the courage to fall as deeply as humanly possible, for even if it hurts, it's always worth it. Every time.

1. It was NOT love at first sight.

He might have spotted her right away, but she was not feeling it at first.

2. She becomes more spontaneous.

When she did give him a chance, she lets herself become vulnerable.

3. He's open and honest and available.

He's willing to be whatever she needs him to be.

4. He's playful and silly and kind.

Life is too short to not rub ice cream on each other's faces.

5. The way he looks at her is enough to make anyone melt.

Get you a boy who admires you when you don't even realize he's watching you.

6. Really though.

Look. At. His. Face. Ryan. Gosling. I love you.

7. He teaches her new things.

Learn from each other every day.

8. They persevere through arguments.

A natural part of every relationship. Breathe, listen, work it out.

9. The promise of commitment.

One does not simply become a bird unless Ryan Gosling becomes one too. Really though, don't settle for "just having fun". The right one will come to stay.

10. The PDA.

Slightly obnoxious. But why not show off a little?

11. The chivalry.

Slow. Dancing. Yes. Please.

12. The adventures.

So many memories to be made.

13. The innocent kisses.

The best. My favorite. Yes.

14. The not-so-innocent kisses.

Get you a guy that can do both.

15. The "he's not for you" talk.

Everyone that knows me knows I go crazy over a forbidden love story. Don't let technicalities slow you down. You go, girl.

16. The heartbreak.

Sometimes these things are out of control, though. Get the tissues.

17. The letters.

"Noah wrote Allie 365 letters and you can't even answer my text?" Really, these letters are so raw, so beautiful, so true.

18. Teaching your heart to love again.

Moving on is one of the hardest things to do. But once you find the room to grow, happiness awaits you.

19. The house.

Guys. He actually did this for her.

20. Trusting your heart when you feel something is missing.

And she found him again. Stupid? Yes. Necessary? Absolutely. Nothing is worse than a hanging "what if".

21. The ride with the swans.

My heart can't even take the romance. I was born in the wrong generation.

22. The confrontation.

So intense. She has no idea; the letters, the heartache, the loneliness.

23. This. Moment. Omg.

This moment is really what made me believe in soulmates.

24. When you're stuck in the middle and don't know what to do.

There are always consequences to your actions, but everything happens for a reason Allie!!!

25. And you think about the best kind of love.

These words. I've let these words consume me. It's all I'm looking for.

26. Follow your heart and make the right choice.

She chose him. Knew she would. *Wipes tears*

27. He sticks by her until the very end.

The commitment never falls, even after she can't remember him.

28. And reads to her everyday.

Now we understand how the movie got its title. BABAM how perfect is this.

29. And she comes back.

TEARS TEARS TEARS.

30. Their love is strong enough to take them away together.

A love that lasts forever, on earth and beyond. What else could a girl want?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
