Smiling is a basic human function. You use seventeen muscles to smile and yet we smile on average twenty to forty times a day. Most of the time we don't even realize we're smiling. But maybe you don't feel like you're smiling enough or you just aren't happy anymore. Here are thirty reasons to smile:
1.The really cheesy joke your friend just made.
2. The frown you get after you say something that wasn't very appropriate.
3. Your dog running in circles around the living room.
4. The friendly carhop bringing you your order with a smile.
5. A new season of your favorite show.
6. The friendly stranger who waves at you as you pass.
7. The kind soul who gave you a comforting look on the day you need it most.
8. Singing too loud in the car.
9. The simple, sweet gesture from that guy you like.
10. Going to see a new movie with your friends.
11. Sitting in the parking lot laughing with your best friends.
12. Fifty cent frosty's.
13. A full tank of gas.
14. Fully charged phone battery.
15. A new season added onto Netflix.
16. The great news your friend just got.
17. Family dinners.
18. A warm hug.
19. Freshly popped popcorn.
20. A shopping trip.
21. Scoring a point during a sports game.
22. Your hand being held.
23. Friday night lights.
24. Fireworks.
25. Candy.
26. Driving too fast with the windows down.
27. Freshly done nails.
28. A smirk you get from your best friend when you both get the same idea.
29. A home-cooked meal.
30. A brand new book.
There's always a reason to smile, even if you can't see it at the moment. The sunshine on your face, a warm hug, the cold droplet of rain, your best friend laughing, the gentle breeze, all of these points are blessings from God and we should be so thankful for each and every one. Even on your darkest day there's always something, no matter how small, to smile about.
