30 Mainstream Songs That Made 2015

As we're just days away from sending 2015 to a close and greeting 2016 with open arms, we try to remember as much as we can about the good, the bad, and the ugly of 2015. One factor that definitely contributed to the 'good' portion of this past year has been the music. The past 365 days, we've been nonstop streaming the likes of Adele, Taylor Swift and Fetty Wap through the radio, Spotify and Pandora. My favorite part of the end-of-the-year remembrance is looking back at the music we've listened to the most and have become the most familiar with.

Sometimes you just have to be basic and listen to Billboard's top 100. It's the new art form. I comprised a list full to the brim of popular music that have graced our radios. Just in case you've been in a deep slumber all year, just woke up from a coma and need all the latest 2015 had to offer in the music scene, or just need a bit of a refresher, check out the list below to see 2015's music hot spots.

Disclaimer: some songs may not be considered 'mainstream' but definitely deserve a spot on this list.

1. "Trap Queen" - Fetty Wap

The go-to party song of 2015. Everyone knows the lyrics and everyone can't help from screaming them. Thank you Fetty for this gem.

2. "Marvin Gaye" - Charlie Puth ft. Meghan Trainor

No words can describe my excitement when this comes on.

3. "Bad Blood" - Taylor Swift ft. Kendrick Lamar

T-Swift pushed the boundaries on the term 'squad goals' in her kick ass music video.

4. "Cool for the Summer" - Demi Lovato

Demi's return couldn't have been more explosive than with a sizzling summer track to kick it off.

5. "Can't Feel My Face" - The Weeknd

Biased opinion: one of the best things to emerge from 2015's music scene is this man.

6. "Hold My Hand" - Jess Glynne

From "Rather Be" to this adorable hit, Jess Glynne can do no wrong.

7. "Cheyenne" - Jason Derulo

Falsetto on fleek.

8. "Honey, I'm Good" - Andy Grammer

A song respecting one's relationship earns top respect.

9. "Delilah" - Florence + The Machine

A song you can't help but dance to.

10. "Elastic Heart" - Sia

Who knew Maddie Ziegler and Shia LaBeouf together in a cage was all that was missing in our lives?

11. "Yoga" - Janelle Monae

Janelle switched up her style for this hot track and it more than paid off.

12. "Chains" - Nick Jonas

2015 was the return of the Disney stars, and they definitely did not disappoint.

13. "Worth It" - Fifth Harmony

My go-to jam.

14. "FourFiveSeconds" - Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney

Mary herself would have to descend from heaven and duct tape my mouth shut to keep me from singing this song.

15. "Sorry" - Justin Bieber

His return was an extremely pleasant surprise.

16. "Love Me Harder" - Ariana Grande & The Weeknd

Although released in 2014, the song picked up massively in early 2015.

17. "Wildest Dreams" - Taylor Swift

1989's holy grail.

18. "Truffle Butter" - Nicki Minaj ft. Drake & Lil Wayne

Who knew something so disgusting could sound so good?

19. "Uptown Funk!" - Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars

That one jam that everyone drops everything to get up and dance to. This is it.

20. "Talking Body" - Tove Lo

A new artist to the scene who served us up one of the best songs of 2015.

21. "Downtown" - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

They came back, and I couldn't be happier.

22. "High By The Beach" - Lana Del Rey

An entire song and video devoted to throwing shade at the paparazzi. This is what was missing in my life.

23. "Electric Love" - BORNS

Hair goals. Vocal goals. Everything goals.

24. "Blue" - Marina and the Diamonds

2015's biggest underrated gem.

25. "Here" - Alessia Cara

Alessia Cara is by far the best fresh face of 2015. This 'introverted view on a party' song proves it.

26. "Hello" - Adele

No words. Just thank you.

27. "Run Away With Me" - Carly Rae Jepsen

I didn't realize how important Carly was to my life until she returned to the music scene.

28. "Hotline Bling" - Drake

All I want to do is be able to dad dance as well as Drake.

29. "B**ch Better Have My Money" - Rihanna

The most streamed female artist of 2015 and she didn't even release an album to support it. Long live the queen.

30. "Til It Happens To You" - Lady Gaga

A song and video describing the feelings and affects of a chilling subject. Thank you, Gaga, for this gorgeous song.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
