3 Years Later

Here's to many more.

3 Years Later

What started out as a simple conversation about movies turned into something so much more.

It's crazy to think that we've been together for three-years now. I wouldn't of had the last three-years any other way. I never knew that future boyfriend and my best friend was right behind me.

But it wasn't until the following summer that we actually had a full conversation with each other. Little did I know that the first conversation we had on June 1 would be the beginning of something amazing.

Now here we are three-years later. We're like two peas in a pod.

In the past three-years you've taught me to look at things differently and not just one sided, to be more confident in myself, to study for test and it's OK to get out of my comfort zone.

I wanted to take this time to thank you for sticking around with me for the past three-years.

Thank you for my being there for me when I need to vent. Especially when it's pointless.

Thank you for taking me Disneyland this year when I was missing home.

Thank you for being there for me through the tough times.

Thank you for being my pillow when I fall asleep.

Thank you for making me laugh when I'm in a bad mood or when I feel like I want to cry just to make me feel better.

Thank you for just doing nothing with me.

Thank you for re-watching "Friends" with me.

Thank you for showing me "The Office." Thank you for always going above and beyond for me.

Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

Last but not least, thank you for loving me.

I could thank you for so much more because you've done so much for me. These past three-years have been nothing but the best. Can't wait for many more to come. I love you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
