Living with another person is no easy feat. Unless your school is benevolent enough to offer single housing, or you are smart enough to miraculously discover a new and unexplained "medical reason" to acquire said single housing, chances are that you will have a roommate. In many cases, you might get along with your roommate, and in many-er cases, you may not be able to stand to look at their ugly face.

Whether you love or hate your roommate, getting along with them is a core component of the college experience. Get a head start by practicing these creative ways to make your roommate love you.

1. Practice Napping

Napping is yet another essential part of college life. Perfecting your nap is a goal that every college student must share. Having a regular and well-planned sleep schedule can do wonders to the relationship with your roommate. It can remove any tension between the two of you, and can make you understand and appreciate each other's sleepy times. Much like tennis or swimming, you don't get better without practice.

Thus, in order to perfect your nap in your own bed, you must first conduct practice naps in your roommate's bed. This helps the muscles at the back of your body adjust to the topography of a dorm-bed. It is even more important to make sure that you roll around in the bed, so as to expose your body to the curves and bends in the sheets. Once you have rolled around vigorously, leave the bed unmade, so as to remember your hard work and proceed to your own bed for the perfect nap.

2. Food Sampling

Your roommate's health and well-being is a priority. Above all else, it is important that your roommate feels safe and secure in the environment you have created for yourselves. This is why it is your duty to protect your roommate from any harm, which could happen at any moment. Food should be an important item on this list. In the olden days, kings and queens had people taste their food before they ate it, to make sure it was free of poison and safe to consume.

Similarly, you must sample all of your roommate's food to make sure it is clean and safe. Try at least half of every food item they have, to make sure the product is good through all of it. Pro tip: If they have chips and dip, instead of trying half of the chips and half of the dip, you can save time by eating all of one item. This means that no dip would be consumed without the chips, and no chips without the dip. This is an excellent time saver, and time management is a crucial aspect of college success.

3. Academic Support

Getting good grades and doing well in your classes makes you feel better, and the same goes for your roommate. If your roommate is succeeding academically, they are most likely to be in a good mood, which means they are more positive. Positivity is the foundation of any good relationship, in addition to respect and food-making abilities.

Thus, keeping your roommate positive can prevent any chances of not getting along with them. Apart from putting up good scores yourself, you should always try and help your roommate achieve the same goal. The most effective way to do this is by helping them with their homework. If, at any point, you see your roommate's homework lying about, makes sure you tear it and eat it all up.

This means that your roommate will not have anything to present to their professor in class. What does this mean, you ask? They will then be forced to re-do everything from scratch. This extra practice is sure to help them get that grade boost they need, and they will love you endlessly for your selfless aid.

Make sure to try out these techniques and watch as your roomie relationship flowers into something beautiful.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
