From the time we're in first grade to the day we graduate college, we go through 'best' friends like we go through new shoes. Sometimes, it's not about how long you've known someone, it's about the things you've been through with them.
College is a stressful time full of obstacles and setbacks, where you truly depend on the people around you to pull you through those four years. We should always be thankful for the people we've met who, while we haven't known long, have been there for us through everything.
1. Making Sure You Know When To Study
Most college students enjoy putting off their responsibilities by going out with their friends and drinking entire bottles of wine. But there are times when your friends have pushed you through that annoyingly long online chemistry exam or forced you to write a kick-ass term paper that you've been putting off since week one of the semester. Make sure they know how much they helped you.
2. Forcing You To Take A Break
When Thanksgiving break is over, suddenly everyone's in panic mode. Your best friends are the ones who always ensure you have that extra drink when you can spare it, because it's worth the memories, and the break.
3. Being There For Everything In Between
With school being a full time job, it's easy to forget that life is still happening. The biggest gift a best friend can give you is just being there. For everything. For sitting through the all nighters on the library floor to the all nighters with frat boys and beer. Your best friend has been there for all of it. Don't forget to thank them before you graduate and go your separate ways.
