We all have had or do have a pet. Whether it be a dog, cat, hamster, fish, guinea pig, or lizard. And we all have bonded with them in a way that is different than a bond with another person. Our pets calm us, make us happy, and maybe even mad at times, but at the end of the day, we cannot help but love our little fur babies unconditionally. So here are some reasons why we tend to have BFF pets:
1. They love us unconditionally.
Let's face it: we all get a little frustrated with pets sometimes. Like when they use the bathroom in the house or if they play bite you a little too hard. And they also get frustrated with us. For instance when we accidentally step on their tails or leave them at home for hours with nothing to do because we have school or work to attend to. But even after all this, they still come up to you and lick your face or rub up against your legs or even jump on you as soon as you walk through the door. Behind all the bad moments, they still see us as their favorite human ( I mean, we are the ones who feed them right? ) And we cannot help but love that cute little (or huge) face of theirs.
2. They are our protectors.
I don't know about you guys, but when my pets hear or see someone they do not know, they get very protective of me. It's like they feel the need to be our warriors. Almost like we are one of them; their own family. They either bark, hiss, or even bite the people they seem to think might be the slightest bit dangerous.
Once when I was little, my dog at the time even attacked my own dad, not because he was harming me but because he was so protective he did not want any guy near me (he survived btw). These reactions show how much they value our lives.
3. They are the best cuddle buddies.
Our little balls of fluff can always provide the perfect cuddles. They're always warm, and soft – cue "Soft Kitty" song – and always up for snuggling. I'm not sure why, but most animals seem to love to be close to their owners (sometimes too close). It's like it gives them a sense of bonding and reassurance that we are theirs. I mean sometimes this is cute, but my kitten always seems to want to be pet and held at the most inconvenient times (like when trying to use the bathroom). But we still pick them up and pet them because we cannot help but love the affection they give us. Because after all, they are our best friends.
Even if we get frustrated or annoyed by their habits, we always seem to adore our furry buddies. They make the perfect best friend because they do not judge you, they just love you no matter what.
Oh, and I hope you enjoy all my silly pictures of all my babies. :)
