If you don't know who Misterwives is, think of the "Finding Carter" theme song on MTV. That's them, and they are awesome! They're one of those bands that had maybe two really popular songs on the radio, and the rest of their album was seriously underrated. If you think they are just a small hipster band and you would hate their concert, think again.
1. They are very high energy.
Their concert is fast-paced, bouncy, and a great time. For their first stop in Pittsburgh on 'The Scrapbook Tour,' they slowed it down and sang 'Coffins,' which was so great by the way. After that, all of their songs, including the covers they did, made you jump around and have a great time. Who doesn't want to see a fun band that does Michael Jackson covers? Crazy people.
2. Mandy Lee is perfect.
I want Mandy Lee to be my spirit animal. She has an incredible voice, she's an adorable ginger, PLUS she is dating the drummer of the band and they are totally adorable. Mandy Lee made it a point to really connect with her fans in the audience instead of just treating them like her meal ticket, which was awesome to see. If I had the stamina to sing like a rockstar while doing some intense dance moves on stage like her, I would be more than happy.
3. They are big supporters of human equality.
Mandy Lee made it a point during the show to stop, drop and do pushups, while shouting in-between reps that the American stereotypes for women are "complete and utter bullsh*t," and then told the crowd to love themselves no matter what their skin color, gender, sexual preference, and race is. Having a positive female figure like that tell a room full of people that things will get better and to love who they are was a really uplifting moment.
If you don't think you'd enjoy yourself at the show, then don't go. But at least check out their music, because believe it or not, they are a really incredible artists and deserve everything that comes their way.
