Whether you've been following them for a while, or you're a new "Merb" fan, one thing is clear: you're a part of one of the best fan groups in our region's history. For those of you that don't know, these people are becoming Facebook famous in Eastern Kentucky. The overall fan-base that Herb and Marilyn have gained since October 2015 is one that has nearly tripled in a few short months.

1. Relatable

Herb and Marilyn's strong, independent, "tell it like it is" personalities are one of the most likable characteristics that they portray. Nobody gets famous by setting idly by. Their southern way of letting everyone know what's really on their mind makes for the type of reality show that people love following. You laugh when they laugh, cry when they cry, etc.

2. Quality Entertainment

Following "Merb" is the thrill of reality television minus the scripted approach that networks require to get more viewers. In a typical day, a "Merb" fan can experience singing, dancing, makeup tutorials, tattoo discussions, wedding planning, story-telling, and life advice all for free and from the comfort of their phone/tablet/laptop. "Merb" fans express how if this did in fact become a reality television show, it would be similar to Keeping Up With the Kardashians combined with Teen Mom, mixed with Duck Dynasty and including a dash of Laguna Beach- Eastern Kentucky style.

3. Loyalty of Fans

With over 150 viewers each live-stream video which results to sometimes nearly 20,000 overall views with thousands of comments, this fan base is one that is growing rapidly. Both Herb and Marilyn have nearly reached the Facebook capacity for friends. GoFundMe accounts have been created by their fans. A fan page named "@TeamMerb" on Twitter has gained hundreds of followers. Memes have been created in their image. Fans are always ready to watch, comment, and give feedback on anything Herb or Marilyn post.


If one things is for sure, the Herb and Marilyn bandwagon is growing at a steady pace. Your decision boils down to whether you want to become a "Merb" fan now or if you'll become one later whenever they become a national phenomenon.
