What do you think about when you stare into the night sky? Do you ever wonder if we are all alone on this great rock? Do you ever wonder if all of human progress, our math, science, and architecture, was influenced by an outside force? Do you think it is absurd that we can be the only intelligent life in the entire wide universe? I do. Why? Because....
1. The universe is fricken huge!
Earth only receives light that has had time to reach us since the big bang. Being that the universe is about 14 billion years old, the "observable universe" is therefore a sphere around us wtih a radius of ~14 billion light years, the volume of which is 1.14940403219339e+31 (V=4/3πr³) or approximately 1 Quattuordecillion Cubic Light Years. Inside there are about 200 billion galaxies and around 124 or 1 Septillion Planets. Outside what we can see may be an infinite void or infinite planets and stars. Every second more of the universe is becoming observable, but it will be a long time before we can say what's outside or on the edge of our universe. Didn't Einstein find within known physics principles the capability for time travel and wormholes in his Einstein-Rosen Bridge theory?
2. The universe is old, Earth is young.
Earth is only 4.543 billion years old and modern humans have only been around 200,000 years! Other planets may have more then a 300 percent and almost 10 billion year head start. I know we made it to the moon quick. but even if an alien race took 1 billion years to make it to space we could still be behind them today. Its not a fair fight if they reached Earth before we evolved. Tell me it is impossible in your rational mind.
3. Are we the best? Since ever, everywhere, always?
I can't think of a single thing more arrogant way of being then basically every human walking around with "universe's number one species!" stamped on their coffee mug. How is it not mainstream to think their might be at least one single group of living beings in the whole universe who has any capability even relatively close to us let alone above and beyond us? The question isn't are they out there, it is what do we do about them. Hillary Clinton (whom I do not support) has already come out and said she would reveal what the government knows about UFOs as President. What will the other candidates do? What would other countries do if faced with the reality of aliens among us? We can't be sure they are here, but can we be sure they are not?
The time is now for citizens to stand up and demand answers. What happened at Roswell? What is our NASA funding going towards? What did the Mars rovers really find? Why is more funding not going into space?
The universe is a huge place, and Earth is a miniscule part. If we want to be universal citizens, not just global, it is time we started to colonize space. Funding has already started, but it is slow. Elon Musk is leading the way with SpaceX. Are you doing your part?
