The news has been leaked for quite some time now, but last week it was made official. Apple will officially be cutting ties with the auxiliary port in the newest iPhone 7 model. The very popular Apple EarPods will now be replaced with the newest Apple AirPods, which are completely wireless. If you are an Apple addict and are looking to upgrade to an iPhone 7, soon prepare to say goodbye to the following:
1. Pretending to look like you're busy.
These little babies can be easily concealed if you have long enough hair. Without the wires of the classic earbuds, do not be shocked if a stranger randomly starts conversing about puppies with you.
2. Replacing them.
If you thought paying $30 was a stretch to replace your Apple EarPods then prepare yourself. Your pockets will be seeping a lot deeper with the Apple AirPods, pricing at $159 (yes, dollars) to replace them.
So word to the wise: Do not lose them!
3. Square readers + other accessories.

Many accessories such as square readers are dependent upon auxiliary ports to even function. This also means that Square readers and other accessories will seem awkward to use with an adapter. Eventually many non-wireless accessories, like Square readers, will need to adapt their product.
Fortunately, Apple is also selling an auxiliary port adapter which can be attached through the charging port, but let's be real: Having to choose between listening to music or charging your phone fricking sucks.
So cheers to the new Apple products that will be hitting the market. But mourn for our dear friend the auxiliary port for leaving so soon.
