Justin Bieber had been on a "music hiatus" since 2013. One of his few contributions to the music world during that two-year hiatus was being featured in Diplo and Skrillex's song "Where Are Ü Now," then he started promoting a new song called "What Do You Mean?"
On Instagram, he featured tons of different artists holding up signs that read "What Do You Mean?" and the number of days until the song release. It was then announced that he would be performing (for the first time in two and a half years, mind you) the long-awaited song at the "MTV Video Music Awards" on Aug. 30. To add more excitement to the song release, he decided to also release the music video after his performance.
Thousands of Beliebers instantly opened the video to see what Justin had in store for us now, and this was the reaction many of us had.
