27 Lazy Thoughts You Have in College

While these four years are the proclaimed "best four years of our lives," I often wonder why the simplest things are so exhausting. Could it be because teachers seem to gather together and decide on one week to give us exams and five-page papers? Maybe it's the extracurriculars that take up several hours a day, or the fact that some of us don't wake up until 10 a.m. — at the earliest. For most of us, it's the Sunday horror that is bound to ensue after a long weekend. Before the weekend festivities start on Thursday night, we tell ourselves that all day Sunday will be plenty of time, without realizing that we'll spend half of the morning catching up on sleep. Nonetheless, these thoughts voiced out loud may not offend our equally-lazy roommate, but would horrify our mothers. Such thoughts include:

1. I should probably do my laundry … ehhh, I still have enough underwear for the week. I'll just take it home.

2. Probably shouldn't have had that McDonald's at 4 a.m. I'm gonna go to the gym. Nah, I have to walk to class; it's basically the same thing.

3. I'm just gonna sleep five more minutes. (And when I say five, I mean 45.)

4. Make healthy food or go to the dining hall and eat fries? Dining hall, every single time.

5. Ugh, I'm so hungry but I don't want to move. Thank God for OrderUp.

6. Think the OrderUp guy will come to my door? I really don't feel like taking the elevator down and walking to the front of the building.

7. I'm just going to sleep on top of my comforter and turn the heat up so I don't have to make my bed in the morning.

8. Definitely taking a cab there. Or the bus. Yeah, the bus is cheaper.

9. Think people will notice if I don't shower? I'll just use some dry shampoo.

10. I'm just gonna hide the dishes under my desk so I don't have to do them.

11. Don't feel like unloading the dishwasher, so I'm just going to grab a plate out of it and wash it.

12. I really think I could live off of Ramen.

13. I hope my roommate gets so fed up with the trash overflowing that she'll just take it out instead.

14. Clorox wipes: the best gift given to mankind. Having to hold a Pledge bottle and a rag is SO taxing.

15. "Hey, can you toss me the remote? Thanks, I don't feel like moving."

16. I hope my roommate gets up so I can ask her to grab me a pencil.

17. I could vacuum, or I could casually kick the crumbs under my desk…

18. Maybe I'll offer to lend my roommate chips so she'll open the back door for me. Genius! Then I won't have to walk all the way around the building!

19. I only wore this sweatshirt five times and it doesn't have any stains on it so ... back in the drawer it goes!

20. I wore this outfit to my Monday class, which means I can definitely wear it again to my Thursday class, and no one will know.

21. Using Febreeze is basically the same as doing the wash, right?

22. Maybe I'll just ask her if she wants to get dinner. She has a car, so then she'll drive and I won't have to walk …

23. I'm about to go take some plastic utensils from the dining hall so I don't have to wash mine later.

24. How did people even function without a GPS? I can't imagine having to actually think about how to get somewhere.

25. "Sorry, I'd help you with that homework, but I'm about to go to sleep!" *Plays with phone for hours.*

26. I finished one subject's homework, which means I automatically deserve two hours of Netflix.

27. I think if I hide under the covers long enough, all of my problems will go away.

Sorry, Mom!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
