Although being short has upsides (never having to worry about finding a guy taller than you and being able to wear those adorable sky high heels, for example), it also has plenty of struggles.
Here are 26 things all my short girls out there can relate to:
1. You are the shortest one in your friend group, and they don’t let you forget it.
2. When taking group pictures, you secretly stand on your tip-toes.
3. You are an expert at cropping photos (you have to hide the tip-toes somehow).
4. You most likely can’t see the singer at that concert you’re attending.
5. When you’re in the back of large classrooms or meetings, you can just forget about even trying to see what’s going on in the front.
6. You get shoved in crowds easily.
7. If your friends are all wearing heels to a fancy event, they don’t even have to ask if you’re wearing them, too.
8. Even if they’re not wearing heels, you unfortunately still have to.
9. When you meet new people, without a doubt, someone has to comment on how short you are, as if you didn’t already know.
10. You find yourself saying throughout the day, “If I had a dollar for every time someone called me short…”
11. Everyone is relaxing in the 5-foot pool depth while you’re on the verge of drowning.
12. You’re probably not even seen in half of your friends’ group selfies.
13. No pants are ever the perfect length. Ever.
14. Unless you’re wearing capris as pants…
15. You’re speed walking while all of your friends are taking a nice stroll.
16. You can wear a maxi skirt as a maxi dress and no one ever knows.
17. You can’t even reach the middle rack on the wall at your favorite clothing store, and of course, the highest racks have the cutest stuff.
18. Your friends tease you at theme parks and make you stand by the height requirement.
19. You can’t see yourself in most public bathroom mirrors.
20. You’re pretty much always in what feels like a high chair because your feet probably don’t touch the ground.
21. You always get stuck in the middle seat or squished against a window in a crowded car.
22. No one ever picked you to be on their team in middle school PE.
23. You can’t reach half the stuff in the kitchen…who knows what's even up there.
24. You always have to be the one sitting in front of your family pictures.
25. Some people say, “So are you, like, technically a dwarf?” No.
26. At the end of the day, you actually don’t mind being short because there are plenty of tall people struggles, too.
